I think thats insulting to both of them, there was only one Dream and one Yao. They are 2 different players.

    Yao = Yao

    Yep!

Watching this team is like someone scratching a chalk board...It's a constant struggle. No flow.

Yao alone would give Ray Allen a higher field goal % because of all the open looks he would get. I thinks Francis would do better in seattle's syestem because he can do the things that he did while rudy was the coach. Sonics probably don't do this trade because i dont think they would want to take MoT/Catos contract, they rather go for Randolph or Rasheed in the offseason.

I think that the consensus around the league, including the opionion of the national analysts, is that SF3 playing style just does not fit in with a system with a dominant center.

And the most striking thing is that almost everyone thinks that Houston will be more dangerous if Yao takes more shots. I have yet to see anyone (with the exception of SOF) that thinks that the Rockets will be a better team if SF3 takes more shots. Bar none.

Milos, I agree with that take. Francis is definately going to lead the run into the first round playoff spot this team better get to, at least. IMO steve puts it together, which is critical to winning against Dallas or Minnesota absolutely, even to streaching it out to 6 games or more, he will earn another year with Yao.

If on the other hand, he stands there and dribbles like he did at the end of I think the 3rd qt. against Atlanta, then jack it up like a game of horse with your brother, then he's toast. We will get quickly booted out by anybody we face in the first round.

Potential is a slippery word sometimes. I would preffer to have him take a shot at 2, but Mobley is growing up in a way that Francis stgill doesn't show so why mess with his game?

I like to see Steve drive and dished to Yao more. That should be his bread and butter play everytime. He should do what Kobe did...drive and dish. If he drives, they're forced to double up on him and then he can pass to Yao for dunk.

Management knows this and had a chance to "sell" Steve by the deadline when he has good trade value and was coming off the All Star. But they decided to gamble that SF can do, in next 30 games, what he hasn't done in 5 yrs - be a playmaking leader on a playoff team. They thought they've invested 85M in a Mercedes but it's been performing like a Yugo. Like all lemons, they'll eventually break down but Carroll Dawson thinks his will work better in the summer than in the winter.

i just dont get why CD wont do anything when everyone else relizes this. Maybe he is waiting for offseason or something, hopefully he will be smart and make some good changes for the team.

I would like to see the Rockets eventually be a championship-caliber team again, and CD will have to make changes to roster because the point guard position has become a position of weakness rather than one of strength. Steve is consistently being forced by the opposing team to hit the jumper. Mark Jackson is garbage. I'm off his bandwagon because he can't hit a jumper at all. I just want to see the Rockets win against good teams again. If anyone looks at the Grizzlies, that is a very good team that is turning into a great team. The Rockets are just a good team because "the pieces don't fit".

Here is an analogy for you idiots...

If you wake up every morning and brush your teeth first and then take a shower.. and someone comes into your life and says... you're doing it backwards.. you need to take a shower first and then brush.. How many days.. weeks, or months will it take to adapt. maybe never..

Same thing with steve francis.. I think he has turned his game around. he is playing a controlled game, yet still is very explosive. He is definately doing all the little things, key steals, rebounds, SHOTS.. he is showing alot of heart out there.. all you critics need to shut your trap. Realize that the rockets will never go 82-0. There will be off nights. This is the NBA.. not NBDL.. everyone who is in the NBA has some type of skill and believe it or not.. will have an on night. So being at the record we are.. i think our team is doing just fine. Im tired of all the Biatching

What? You're kiddin' me? Steve is jealous of Yao and wants him off the team. EVERYBODY knows it. ;)

PS. For those that didn't notice, that's sarcasm.

My main point was that Steve historically has not been a guy who only has two turnovers to go with 9 assists. Others have noticed that his turnovers have been trending downwards. I'm optimistic that this is a good sign for the future.

Personally, I'm happy that we have a chance to see if Steve can mesh with this team and here's why:

    1. Steve is a star. By that I mean a unique talent who has a large positive impact on our team. His energy, his penchant for making big plays, and his desire to win, harnessed correctly, would be a big asset in the years to come.

    2. We need someone who can step into the role of first option when Yao is not up to the task, or is not in the game. I don't believe that we have the funds to assemble a complete squad of good-to-excellent players like Dallas or Sacramento, so our offense is always likely to be predicated on someone creating an open shot. We have seen Steve perform at this level in big games before, but can he do it consistently while deferring to Yao at the right times while keeping turnovers under control? That remains to be seen.

    3. We'll get more for Steve after his BYC year is up anyway.

I'm not a Steve-only fan by any stretch, and if you can get me say Brand and Barry for Steve & Cato or Steve & Mo, I'd be happy to talk to you, but for now, I'm glad that we can see if the Houston Rockets version 2.004 can get it done.

If Steve Francis and Yao Ming are really like oil and water will only be judged by how far they can go in the playoffs together.

If they can go deep into the playoffs together, who cares what is going on now in the regular season.

If the playoffs show that it simply does not work, trade Steve Francis for someone who complements Yao Ming better.

As JVG said, only the results will tell the story.

Therefore, we should probably lean back and relax now and cheer on our team, including Yao Ming and Steve Francis.

    Go Rockets! :)
