The Reason that Padgett was picked up was because when the Rockets Drafted Novak, that's what they wanted. Another Scott Padgett.

With Padgett signed to a non guaranteed deal, then the Rockets are saying Novak; "Prove to us that you belong in the Rotation and not the NBDL"

Padgett did more than just shoot, he played tough all of the time! He earned the fans and coaches respect. Sure he has libilities, mostly related to "LACK OF TALENT", but he tried.

Image a player with Padgetts determination and either Eddie Griffins or Stromile Swifts talent!!

If Novak puts in the work and shows that he can hit the open shot in practice, he will play.

JVG plays whoever he thinks can help the rockets win and he basis alot of that on practice. Novak will get his chance. He just needs to prove that he can hit 40 percent from the 3 point line when the lights are on.

Novak has more potentials than Pagget.
He could be a solid rotation paly by the end of this season!

I heard he has put on 10 pounds since the draft, but that the coaching staff wants to keep him at the weight he is now. I suspect they want him to remain mobile, and get free off of weakside screens for open jumpers. They schemed a lot of off the ball screens for him in summer league....

Novak has two guaranteed roles on this team. He will receive the entry pass when the other team is fouling, and he will be the desparation three shooter at the end of the game/quarter. Any minutes that he has beyond that, he will have to earn on the court. But as far as potential goes, Novak has a lot more than Padgett ever dreamed about.

We should see him in with Scotty the Body, Casey Jacobson, TMac and Head when the Rockets need a 3.
