Hopefully not true..i feel like Novak will make some adjustments and be better by the end of the summer
sooooo new thread for this, couldnt post in the SL game thread that people are watching? he is still young and has a year to adapt. if he fails to show any way to remove his weakness (defense) and add new things to his game other than just shooting 3s then yeah he will be out of the league sometime in the next 5 years. however shooters always find a place in the NBA and i wouldnt let Novak go to another team just to light us up.
It's not just the SL. It's a generalization of his game. All he does is shoot 3s. Can't post, can't dribble and penetrate, can't do anything but shoot 3s.
Steve Novak wishes he can be as good as Murray. Only legends can manage to have their name mention AFTER THE FACT. Case in point: "Anything and everything about the Houston Rockets. Your comments from last night's game, potential roster moves, player quotes and pictures. Hell, the slower people in the group can even talk about ex-Rocket Tracy Murray."
I really dont think novak will do much in the nba. I think it was a huge reach drafting him as the first pick of the second round.
i hope the problem with novak is just nerves. he looks nothing at all like that fluid quick playmaker in the marquette vid.
Novak's a better rebounder and more mobile than Murray. Murray always seemed like he was running in mud when he was on the court. Rockets officials need to realize Novak is what he is -- a pure shooter with nothing else in terms of skillset. If he can come in for 16 minutes a night and give you 7-10 ppg, that's great. With his release and know-how as a shooter, he reminds me of Dale Ellis, though obviously not as quick or agile considering Ellis was 6'7". But both were gunslingers who could get any damn shot they wanted, and need little to no space to get it. I still think Novak can be a very capable 8th man in this league.
