I'm not going to parse through every post to see if my point's already been made, so sorry if it has... BUT AK47 is a phenominal defender as is just as skinny as Novak. It's true that you can't teach height, but you also can't teach speed.
I think AK47 is lankier then Novak, but runs like a gazelle in the open court. AK47 has a more athletic body then Novak so to say both are skinny is not describing them fully. AK47's body type is closer to TMac's then Novak. And as far as speed, that's another general term that really doesn't describe fully the difference between AK47 and Novak. The best description I can give is quick reactionary instincts, some players just have a faster instinct then others. So Novak will never be athletically gifted like AK47, might as well add some muscle so backing him down will be tougher and he can fight for rebounds better.
Novak has a stroke. Brooks couldn't hit the broad side of a barn if his life depended on it right now.
scottie and steve, they're of very different types. but i hope novak can succeed or at least have a place in this league for a long time - provided he bulks up and improve his d. a pure shooter with a fast release is just as scarce as a conventional center in the league right now.
The key word is right now. Brooks is in a shooting slump, no doubt. But he's asked to do more things then Novak. I don't know how you got that argument out of my post though, I wasn't comparing Novak's or Brook's 3pt stroke, just that they both won the NCAA version of the 3pt contest. BTW, Bullard brought them together one time to have a 3pt contest between them and decide who is the champ between them. Brooks won.
