He has attempted 140 shots this season and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them have been jumpers.

He has been assisted on 97% of those made jumpers.

113 of those jumpers have been 3 pointers, so 80.7% of all his shots are 3 pointers.

    He shoots .469% from 3, .479% overall, .668 eFG%, and .677 TS%.

He shoots 10.8 3 pointers per 36 min, makes 5.1 of them. At this pace, if he got starter minutes at 36 mpg and played a regular season of 82 games, he would make 418 3 pointers in a season. That is 149 more than Ray Allen's all time record.

Knicks offense is +8.0 per 100 possessions on offense when he's on the court.

He's the only player to have ever played for all three Texas teams.

Maybe Kobe should be saying everyone in Texas should be fired for passing up on him.

He's always been a shooter and is great playing with player that can get into the paint. What's more amazing is that he is actually playing decent defense this year and it for Mr Pringles.

He's playing Chuck Hayes defense. Slapping down low instead of trying to block the shot. I'm wondering if he learned a thing or two from Chuck while in Houston.

You're right. I thought I read that somewhere when he was on the Spurs last year. Maybe it was something like "only player to play on all three Texas teams within 3 years" or something like that.

Novak is one of the few "old school" shooting specialists left in the league. 20 years ago they were everywhere. Teams stocked up on them. Guys that were ready to come off the bench and fire. Nowadays-- I think this practice started to build steam around 1995 -- teams stock up on athletes and project players instead of shooting specialists.

with Lin and Novak, I'm suddenly a knicks fan. now, if they would only get rid of carmello, and revok spike lee's courtside seats, i could root for them long term.

Novak owes much of this to Lin, who is always looking for him on the court and sometime even waved off other teammate just to get the ball to Novak.

It's still insane to me how the NBA leave him out of the 3pt contest each season. I don't care if he's only played 7-20 games a season for the last few seasons, it is obvious watching him play that if you put him in that contest he will torch the net.

When was the last time any of his jumpers actually touched the rim????

a man of extremes since he is terrible at defense. they should call him 'The thin dichotomy'

I am trying to think of someone worse than steve novak at defense and I just can't. help me out.

If I'm the opposing team I am giving the ball to whoever novak is guarding and taking it to the rim.

He is such a liability on defense that I just find myself watching just him on defense the whole time. It's like following fear around with your eyes. He looks like me on defense if I was out there.

He's like a guy that is good at darts or bowling. He has a skill. If he didnt have to run back and forth on the full court we could argue what he is doing is not a sport.

A scrub anomaly that will not miss if open from 3. He's a poor man's 'air Piatkowski'

He is probably the best shooter in the NBA. He just wasn't getting a chance to prove himself and now with Melo, Amare and Lin of course he gets early open shot and once he gets a good rythm *just like every shooter) forget about it.
