tonight will be the first night he'll be playing for the clippers against the lakers. i cant wait to see him drain some silky smooth 3s against the lakers!
After 9mins of play, Novak miss 1 shot and done nothing else. 0 rebound, 0 assist, 0 block shots and 0 turnover. Of course 0 points. And yet he still have a +9 +/-.
He didn't do much in the 1st half. I caught the last few minutes of the 2nd quarter. Novak will never be anything more than a minimum NBA player. His lack of athleticism and basketball instincts just kill him at the NBA level. He could be out of the league next season.
He had some good games in pre-season as a rookie. In fact, he was ranked the 10th best rookie in the NBA after the pre-season was over. The rest is history. Novak does very well in the lax atmosphere of games that don't count.
Sometimes in big games, too. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/GHKWJ8yCqBE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/GHKWJ8yCqBE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Novak hit 4/6 from downtown today, from my last count. He was simply on fire. He also sank a couple of shots that didn't count because of offball fouls. He definitely made me miss him today.
Think back to his rookie pre-season when people here were debating if Novak would average double figures during the season and were calling him the steal of the draft.
Novak is a pure shooter. As much as we needed a third string scorer in the past 2 playoffs, he still didn't get a spot. Reason is his incapability on defence. He'd probably shine in teams like Phoenix and GSW where the coaches might stress defence a bit less. I wish him good luck in Clippers but honestly do not miss him much.
He was horrible in his rookie season, couldn't make a shot. He was obviously lack of confidence, which is the most important thing for a shooter. After spending some time in the DL the next year, he got his shooting back and could help in some situations. Of course, his biggest problem is his defense and rebounding as a 4. If he doesn't improve on those, the most he can do in the league is a situational offensive player.
As bad as Novak was in almost every aspect of the game other than shooting, I always had trouble letting go of a 6'10 situational player that drains 3s like layups. It's too bad he was just that bad at everything else. I would have kept his one-dimensionalness over Head's though.
Trying not to sound too much a ***, but this video reminds me of TMac's on-the-court awareness and dedication foremost.
