Yea and he deserved them. MVPs are for the regular season. He was a good contender for the 3rd one too but people got too butthurt over HISTORY so he got screwed over.

very true but those folks (many of which are posting in this thread to defend Nash) would be stupid. It's nothing negative. He wanted to motivate his teammates just like every other player who has done this in the past.

Nash deserves respect as much as or more than probably any player currently in the league with the possible exception of Duncan.

Most certainly more than the the likes of Kobe/Shaq/Wade who got their 'rings' with Stern's help.

He is a first ballot HOFer if anyone is...

Playing one side of the court ...will not win you a championship much less a finals appearance. He is great player and leader , but the road to a championship is not one sided.

Usually the best player on the best team wins the award... Dirk deserved it as much as Nash.

What was he supposed to say? That he is picking the Lakers to win it all?

I get the feeling . .. if Pheonix had won the championship this year
    He might have Retired.

He has maybe 2~3 more years in him.
I don't think he wants to be the Farve of the NBA
    [sans the championship]

Through game 5, the home team won every game. Nash was disappointed about the game 5 loss, and he was trying to take his mind of that by being positive and confident about going home for game 6. What's the problem?

MVP is for the regularly season not the playoffs.

Nash deserved both MVP awards and probably the third one too if people weren't biased because he already won 2 in a row.

In those 3 years, Nash led his team to two 60+ wins season and one 54 wins.
He averaged almost 20-10 for two seasons while shooting over .500.

He led his team to a 17 win streak and a 15 win streak in 07.

Kobe on the other hand, led his team to 34-48 in 05 after Shaq left and hovered around the 43 win mark for two seasons until Gasol joined the Lakers in 08.

Kobe doesn't even come close to Nash when it comes to leading the team in the regular season. Playoffs though, is another story.

Give Nash, Smush, Odom, Walton, Kwame as starters and he'd be lucky to win 20 games.

Don't forget Smush was in Suns for 10 days contract, got cut before picked up by Lakers as a starter next year.

Amare has had way more All NBA team appearance than Gasol and Nash couldn't do **** with Amare.

Hey bub, don't put your panties in a bunch, he didn't say Nash was better than Kobe. He just said Nash was a better regular season player than Kobe during those years.

He's also butt hurt because Kobe didn't win the US presidential race, an Oscar for best supporting actor, and the local church bake off, so you'll have to forgive him.
