http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/9726545/steve-mills-returning-new-york-knicks-gm The New York Knicks on Thursday announced the rehiring of Steve Mills, who served as a key executive with the franchise for 10 years, as president and general manager. Mills replaces Glen Grunwald, who will remain with the organization as an advisor. "I am pleased to be able to welcome Steve back to the Knicks. He is a well-respected sports executive with a strong background in basketball, as well as a familiarity with NBA operations and our company,: Knicks owner James Dolan said in a statement. "We look forward to his leadership and believe he is the right person to help us reach our ultimate goal of winning an NBA championship. "We are grateful for Glen's many years of valuable service and pleased that he will remain with the organization."
How can this move help keeping Melo? IDK. It's fun to watch the Knicks fans reaction. They are super mad.
Funny how they're keeping Grunwald as an "advisor". I'm sure he's being paid handsomly for it, as well. All the while, talented, smart, young people like myself are struggling to get their foot in the door, while owners waste their time and money on these dumbass old scrubs. The Knicks GM has been a rotating door, though. The Nets are making them look like a joke, and the Nets are pretty much a mockery, as well. Perhaps this speaks to the entire east coast. Seems like ownership in that part of the country is exemplary of ineptitude and stupidity, while teams in Texas, the mid-west and the west are being well-managed despite lacking the mass market appeal of the east-coast, old-money teams.

I bet Steve Mills first order of business, rehire Isiah Thomas as VP of Basketball Operations. One wonders what the Knicks could be if only Dolan hires a savvy GM and let him work.
