Making assumptions below: The chick had an unstable background. Mom was murdered. Family fled persecution. Dropped out of high school. Used drugs and alcohol. Probably no father figure (male role model) - probably screwed by guys all her life. Worked multiple minimum wage jobs to make ends meet. Then comes Romeo here. Wines her, dines her, ***** her, buys her a car, takes her on expense paid trips. Tells her he loves her and wants to marry her. Then breaks up with her? I'm not saying it justifies what she may have done...I'm just saying "Steve, there were red flags all over the place!! What were you thinking?!?"
Its very possible for the gun to fall behind her. When it drops, it could have bounced a little like most things you drop on the floor. I'm assuming she shot herself in the temple.
Steve McNair had his Phil Hartman moment. Nothing anyone could have done. It's not fair but life is not fair...to Phil, to Steve, to anyone in a similar situation. Too many times people see relationships as their life...like no life can exist without that other person. When people think that way, then the only alternative for them is to bring death into the equation. Relationships bring out the best and worst in people.
Quick comment, sounds like she bought it on the black market from what I've heard and as we all know from our current war on drugs; when the legitimate market disappears the black market only grows to meet demand. From the looks of this girl's homies, a gun would not have been a problem no matter. /took the bait
The girl's brother said that she had been selling off her things thinking she was moving in with Affair McNair. McNair most likely told the girl he needed to put their relationship on the downlow after the DUI and she freaked out on him.
Or, it was the perfect murder pulled off by an angry ex-boyfriend who hired a hitman, somehow got a key and gave it to the hitman, ensured he had an alibi, and the rest is history. not likely that this happened and would be hard to pull off with sheer perfection...but possible nonetheless. the forensic evidence might turn something up. those also must be some pretty thick walls in that condo if noone heard those shots in condos nearby. but, i think it is obvious something happened between the two and she did it. b****.
A good spot to post this.... http://www.nashvillepost.com/news/2009/7/7/who_are_the_other_people_in_the_mcnair_case Click on the link, scroll down and read some of the rap lyrics written by that Norfleet dude, the ex-boyfriend to McNair's mistress. If that dude didn't play a part in the murder, he probably wished that he did. Definitely is the kind of stuff keeping the police from ruling it a suicide.
Yeah unless she used a silencer, how could no one have heard all the gunshots and it wasn't until the roommate came home that they were discovered dead.
b**** obviously thought McNair screwed her ( in more ways than one ). But, ultimately, she had only herself to blame for her situation. As for Mr. McNair, he obviously played the field and lost bigtime. God is sending a harsh message in this particular case. Infidelity can and does end in tragedy...regardless of who you are. This b****, though, wasn't financially responsible at all. I guess she thought Steve would pay for it all.
There's something odd about this story. She's making payments on the Escalade McNair bought for her as a birthday gift and she had another vehicle she was paying off? The only feasible explanation I can think of is that he agreed to pay for the down payment, but that would throw off another red flag. Why would he pay the down payment and make her pay for the vehicle if it was under both of their names? They're trying to blame money problems as one of the main reasons why she murdered him, but I think it's a lie. I believe they were murdered and all of this is just a cover up. On that article, it said she suicided and staged it so she would fall on his lap, but fell on his feet and over the gun. This is ridiculous....
I'm with you. I think another cop murdered him and they are trying to hush it up. According to relatives, she didn't feel safe living alone. It's pretty clear she knew the cops were gunning for them. She bought a gun that week to prepare for it. They probably used her own gun against her, so that bailistics would check out.
