i would have such a short career as a coach. i would literally have any scrub i didn't think i needed try to undercut curry on every 3 until i hurt him. same with klay on whatever ankle he has hurt now. or just leave curry open for a 3 and have someone like faried just get a head start and goldberg curry into the floor. i'm not saying it's a good personality trait. i'm just saying i would probably do it.

I disagree. Harden plays the way he does because 93% of the games that is the way it is officiated. He has adjusted his game to the way the games are called.

You can be upset with Harden for not changing his game with every little adjustment the refs make, but that's just not a realistic expectation. Should he be less effective for 93% of the games so he's in the habit when the playoffs come around? Or is it a better idea for the refs just to be consistent from game to game.

Shouldn't Harden put the onus on the officials to do that?

This isn't a case of just homer-ism among the Rocket fans. National journalists, the refs themselves that mentioned their missed calls at the half, and fans from other teams are aware of the poor officiating.

I don't think it should be the main focus of the Rockets players or maybe not even the fans. But the team management is doing a great job of putting pressure on the officials to do a better job.

Officials make mistakes every game. It's not an easy job at all. That being said when the same mistakes are made over and over and hurt one team way more than the other, corrections need to be made.

None of that is Harden's fault.

I agree that is what James needs to do. But that isn't what the team management or fans need to do.

And even there, we see the Warriors and their fans upset that a foul was called against them.

no doubt. curry is statistically one of the worst playoff performers ever. harden is also very bad, but i think there was some video a few weeks bad that said curry dropped the most out of anyone in this generation. they tried to use injuries as an excuse, but curry is always healthy when he plays well and always injured when he doesn't.

the dude is straight up kobe to durant's shaq at this point. he and harden had basically the same "game score" in last year's WCF, yet you would think curry was some playoff magician and harden was a choker in that series. and that's with the rockets' best defenders focusing on KD and the warriors (already a better defense) best defenders focusing on james. curry made only 5 shots yesterday, including a 3 over an 80 year old nene because the rockets didn't want to forget about KD, and still beat an extremely good rockets team.

one of the biggest disappointments of KD signing with the warriors is not getting an ending to the steph curry story. he rose to the top of the nba, got humiliated by the king, and instead of us seeing the "hero" redeem himself, he just gave up and, i guess like you would expect from someone who grew up rich and is as entitled as any player in the league, just took the easy road and gave KD the team.

people also tend to paint harden's foul drawing as if he has an easy option to greatness but chooses to "cheat the game." i understand the frustration with watching him draw fouls, but part of why he does it is he is not a freak athlete. he isn't 6'8 with lebron athleticism. he isn't 7 foot with a 20 foot wingspan like giannis. he's not explosive and fast like westbrook. he's not 7 feet with one of the greatest shots like durant. he's 6'5/6'6 and not super fast. unbelievable handles, unbelievable change of direction, built like a tank? yes. but he can't just physically dominate. understanding how to draw fouls has made him who he is. using all of those other skills to get the defense off-balance and then force them to foul or get out of the way was a genius move to take him from fringe all-star to (should be) multiple-time mvp.

so when people say "stop focusing on the fouls", they are basically saying right away, "take your game down a notch, but still be just as good." getting the defense off kilter and then making them pay is a skill. if everyone could do it, they would. the rest of the players don't avoid it because they are of such high moral character. but then the playoffs role around and suddenly, even though free throw rates actually go up in the playoffs league-wide, for some reason harden's free throws have to go down because for some reason, the non-athletic freak should be punished for not just being able to rise up over someone for a jumper or fly over them for a dunk. it's weird.

Yeah. Kerr can't help himself. But if he sat down and thought about what he did, he'd know that it's a dumb act. What's the benefit of mocking your opponent when a lot of people in the media are talking about the crappy officiating? You come across as petty. Also, it doesn't help that the Warriors were the ones who complained about the the refs letting Beverley foul Durant. The hypocrisy is so blatant anybody but the Warriors fans can see it.

He should have taken the high road and people would give him some respect.

hes just angry because he knew the refs cant now be blatant in calling the game for his team. lol. they may have taken game 1 but fans are now VERY AWARE and will really look at the OFFICIATING on a magnifying glass. the calls can still be biased for them but it cant look so lopsided or they will be call out. whether or not fans think the rockets are whiners atleast putting the refs on the limelights very early on this series we kinda avoided the game 6 and 7 fiasco last year where its already TOO LATE to complaim cause the series is already over anyways. thats what you get from being cheating b*stard very early on the series kerr.

Steve Kerr is a son of a b****.

I mean, it's the obvious play though. If your opposition is lobbying for calls, of course you are going to play the flopping card.

I'm not assigning right or wrong here, just saying he is trying to counteract our narrative.

    Be careful Stevie boy.

Would hate for your back to go out and that Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) Leak starts acting up and you get headaches and neck pain and you're forced into retirement, permanently this time.

    Nope, wouldn't want that.

    Be careful Stevie boy.

If harden gonna get 15 free throws then getting 30 mean he has to make 3 field goals each quarter, and they take a chance at foul trouble if they collapse completely to him.

Harden like Kobe when it come to getting 30
