are u basing that on the first game....cause if u are that's a pretty weak argument. What kind of offense are u expected to run if only a couple of guys show up to play? Besides that, take a look at all the preseason games and it becomes clearly evident that isn't the same type of game plan as last year (similar in some ways but very much differnt).
He has sucked for the past couple of years. Rudy's play calling has always been aweful, and he is aweful at subbing.
I am not sure what game Rudy is watching but everyone in the thread about Rudy's 610 appearance said he said it was a movement offense they ran all night. Whatever.
Rudy is an idiot. If we make the playoffs he will probably get a lot of props, even though he is an aweful coach.
Rudy is right you guys. It was a movement offense. Mobley dribbling the ball up the court and then moving to the opposite side and jacking up a shot without passing it to one teamate. Moochie "moving" the ball into the lane and turning it over while the other team "moved" the ball to the other end for a fastbreak bucket. Steve "moving" the ball between his legs. Yao "moving" out of the way so he did not get run over by one of our out of control guards. Collier having a bowel "movement" because he hasnt gotten to play 1st quarter minutes since his days as a Jellow Jacket.
So Rudy says "movement" and you expect the Rockets to run like the Kings and Lakers. Well that's not gonna happen so get over it. If you expect there to be motion every single play get over it cause thats not gonna happen. Likewise, if you're a fan of the iso and expect that to be run every sing play, that's not gonna happen so get over it It not a motion offense yet its not an iso offense...its somewhere in the middle. So stop expecting too much and maybe you'll be content - maybe you won't notice every single iso run during the game, every time Steve doesn't get an assist or every time Rudy calls a bad play. Steve's a great player, this is a great team, Rudy is a great coach, and I'm happy to be a Rockets fan right now. We're on the cusp of the playoffs, which is more than can be said for the Bulls, Warriors, Nuggets and any other team going thru rebuilding. We should consider ourselves to be this lucky.
I know this quote was a page or so back but it seems to sum up your arguments and reasoning for your starting this thread. Look man, the Rockets were horrible. I didn't see a lot of guys hustling to even get open for passes. Eddie Griffin took some bad shots and was being defended well. Steve took some bad shots and drained some of them. The Rockets were bad as a team. Steve didn't have a bad game and he is not the reason we lost. He's a point guard and he makes 90 mil. and he's going to get criticized. When the Rockets play well and barely lose he's going to get unfairly scrutinized. Francis wants that weight on his shoulders. You, as a fan, obviously can't deal with the kind of pressure and expectations he wants for himself. So you should blame Steve and not everyone who critiques his game. Some of the people you blast love him and the Rockets too. So stop constantly telling everybody to "shut up" while you don't even know what "aweful" means.
I can take some critizism, but you guys are going nuts, saying that he is overrated and isn't a good pg. That isn't just blaming him for the loss, it is blaming him for not being like Kidd.
Originally posted by TheReasonSF3 [/B] I agree I dont necessarily want that either, but it's hard to tell what they offense will turn out to be after one game.
It is not a motion or movement offense. It is a moment offense. Three of our guys just standing around and waiting for the rare moment for the ball to pass to them.
Dallas Thomas: - Kid you need a mouth restrainer, just remember you are speaking to many of your betters on this Forum!
Haven't we been through this already? Oh well, I guess I'll just restrain my mouth on this one since you are my better.
If Rudy's an idiot, what does that make you? You're blaming the lack of ball movement on everything and everyone but Steve Francis. So the lack of ball movement has absolutely nothing to do with stevie's ball hogging because he scored 39 points? Do you agree with me that lack of ball movement is what cost us the game?
