http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/aug/9/ex-nba-star-steve-francis-hasnt-forgotten-takoma-p/ “I think I’m doing good now because unfortunately it’s a lockout, and I have time to not rush myself to be at the top level like I did before I went to China,” Francis said. “I have time over the summer to really improve myself and try to set up a workout with a team.”
I want to play in the NBA too. Maybe if they use replacement players, and they go on strike, so they replace those guys, then you'd at least have a chance of playing in the NBADL.
looks pretty baked in this pic. stevie will never be in the same gutter as pippen/mcgrady - i know he gave it everything he was capable of and i feel bad for the guy at this point - he could have been one of the all time greats, but he never really put it together. only 34 and he is already a footnote in nba history.
I was HUGE Steve Francis fan in his first 3-4 year with the Rockets, but quickly became one of his biggest critics. I would agree with your assessment...he DID give everything he was capable of giving during the games...unfortunately he didn't give everything he was capable of giving 'inbetween' games (practice, offseason), which showed. His game got progressively worse (unless he had something to prove like in Orlando), and never added a single dimension to his game from the time he came into the league. What an effing, waste...it's pathetic that he made about 100 million dollars and is still looking for a pay check only a few years removed...a testament to his discipline I guess.
