I think you better check Billups's career TO average (never above 2.5) before you compare him to Francis. About Pierce... Not saying that I'm a fan of Paul Pierce's game. But for a shooting guard, he does have a lot of skills. But, I want McGrady. Not Pierce. The one thing I don't like about Pierce is that he needs someone to motivate him. Lacks fire. Not sure it would be "his team" if he came here. I'm not sure he has the ability to lead by example either. What do I like about Pierce? He can score! He's a SG. He plays his role. Although we'd need more talent to play along side of Pierce because of the "leadership" questions I have about him. Sigh....but I don't think that Kidd would be available....heh!
I want to know who's the better shooter. That's the question. I just want to make it very clear that Pierce is EASILY the better shooter. Although I think he's a slightly better player as well, you can argue that Francis can carry a team as well as Pierce given an identical supporting cast. As for Pierce playing bad at the 3-pt shooting contest - that's not the point. The point is, he was considered and he was picked to participate in a contest among the best shooters in the NBA. The 3-pt contest is NOT a popularity contest - only the best shooters are picked.
Pierce deffered to a team game this year. He openly said that he needs someone to deffer to because he knows he can't handle it alone.
