I really want this season to start already , so many question marks on how Ron will fit in and if Francis is really healthy and in shape. I have 0 expecataions but I really want him to be ready because with him the Rockets will be really fun to watch. If he is healthy , Barry is a great fit next to him with the 2nd unit.
I'd like to see Stevie runnin the floor and gettin to the basket! I sure hope this year will be a special year for the Rockets and Steve!
i hope francis can make CP3, Steve Nash, Deron Williams, Tony Parker, and etc ...play some D on steve himself..
That would make a huge difference in terms of how bad we would beat teams. In the playoffs we would be locked to do damage if we get the real Steve Francis.
Oh my! Stevie is looking good man! If those comments about him being ready to be a Jason Terry type of player off the bench are true, oh man, watch out league! Of course, if he plays that role well he is almost guaranteed to be in the game at crunch time come playoffs time. Here is to hoping Steve can regain his form and reputation as a great player in the league.
I'm 7 years older than Mr. Francis, and I am it the best shape of my life. It is very possible that Steve could come back this season in the best Basketball shape of his life. Drive and genecticts is all he'll need for the return of our beloved "Stevie Franchise", and I truly believe he has both within him. Here is to Steve's finest season!
If Francis adds value next season, I see that as an unexpected bonus. If not, best of luck to Lil' AB.
Agreed. Francis has unbelievable talent, he was just injured the last few years, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him come back strong. But we're not expecting it so it would definitely be the unexpected bonus. And if we got that unexpected bonus and paired him with the new talent we have in Artest and Barry, the sky's the limit for this squad.
If Francis is as good as he is in 2004, he'll start. There is no way Rafer could match him in attacking the rim and rebound as well as carrying the team.
If ya'll remember how heavy he was last year when he did that over the back dunk against the Hornets, at this weight, he ought to have that old "wink" back in him. He has probably shed about 30 - 35 pounds of last years weight. It sounds like he had a very successful surgery and he has obviously been able to move around enough to lose all of that weight. I bet he can't wait to show what he can do on the court this next season. I'll bet he's giddy and starts bouncing around showing off. Luckily, he has a very youthful disposition and loves to showcase his athleticism. I think he is happiest when he does. Last year he was not happy with his inability to get above the rim and I heard he has been practicing with Aaron Brooks and has been very impressed (I think envious is the appropriate word here) by his speed. I'll bet he's gonna turn on the afterburners this next season.
I am sticking to it - we will have four all-stars on the team playing their best basketball yet. Steve was hurt the past two-three years and tried to get by without undergoing surgery. It could take him a couple of months to really get going but it will happen, and we will enjoy it this year. For the first time since Tracy has been here he can sit for a while if he isn't feeling his shot, and vice-versa for Steve, Ron, Rafer & Shane. Our front-court is going to be rough on a lot of teams.
