I thought I would never see the day. Somebody using their minds instead of their hearts to judge the situation? I thought nobody around here was rational enough to do such a great post. Nicely said!
Exactly. Many seem to have disregarded his injury as old-age decline and I just didn't see it that way last season. Does he have 30+ minutes a game in his tool belt - I don't know, but I am confident he has 24 "healthy" minutes. I am not sure why he didn't go ahead with the surgery back with the Knicks which in hindsight would have been the right thing to do. Maybe mattj can track down in interview with him for us to enlighten us all on his rehab.
And if these pics can't convince most of you he is well on his way then I guess training camp will have to be where it happens. Four All-stars on the team - unbelieveable season ahead for us is all I can say.
True, It will be awesome if we have 4 all stars in our rotation. Thank you, topfive, that is a really good post. I can't wait to see Francis's play next season. Don't mess with our winning starter, I would rather to have Artest and SF3 in our second unit. So we will have the strongest bench in the league! All we need now is a backup center!
topfive. Kudos to you. I posted similar responses to what you said and didn't get the sort of props you got but agree with you wholeheartedly. His knee was holding him back, he thought it wasn't a big deal until it ruined his Rockets comeback. People downed Amare Stoudamire after his knee needed surgery, he didn't play for a season, came back lame the season thereafter, then exploded back to form, why can't the same go for Stevie who is YOUNGER than our starter Rafer Alston. This old washed up man crap needs to stop cause its ridiculous. Steve will find his groove and not only am I confident that he'll make the team and impress at training camp, that he'll play well enough to where the Rockets will extend his contract. YUP. The guy bleeds Rockets red, he aint going down like a punk. I mean you guys make this look as bad as Bobby Sura's injury and comeback attempt.
Im gonna have to throw my support behind this post just like many others. It's not so much that I am a "Steve Francis" fan, it's more that I'm a fan of what his game used to be and the potential of what it can offer to us based on your analysis report. I think he is a wild card that could potentially end up putting us with four all-star caliber players on the floor. But only time will prove or disprove that. SO as you said, let's wait and see.
I'd say its likely francis will give us approx 7ppg off the bench. Though at the end of the day, its not his numbers that will be his biggest impact, but rather his heart and influence on the team. I really hope he can energize the crowd and his teammates with his play and be a key piece to our first championship in the yaomac era
I'm not sure where Francis is health wise. What I do know is that every member of the Houston Rockets will be putting in the hard work necessary to win it all in 08/09. Opportunities to win a ring in this league are few and far between with many all time great players never having a chance to win one. What the Rockets have next season is a great opportunity, and I don't see Stevie sitting idly by. Next year we will get to see the very best from each and every player, and Steve will not be the exception.
If Francis can come back and make any kind of contribution at this point is a plus. It's especially important since all we have at backup point guard is AB and Francis. I realize that T-Mac and Barry will do some ball handling, but it would be good to have a true backup pg.
yeah rockets are tryin to keep francis in they want him to be more than last season because he can do it
a backup who can score anywhere other than the 3pt line, off the ball defense, decent man defense, settin up the offenses, etc. if hes healthy next season i wouldnt be surprised if he becomes our starting pg. he would have to do a lot, and i emphasize the word... A LOT!!!!!!!!!!! the thing about steve is i dont see how he cant be a baller if hes healhty. he hasnt been healhty since orlando or his first year in ny so im not gonna compare his game to that. he is old tho, but even w/ that look at grant hill on the suns. all im sayin is i wish steve is healthy next season and i think he will. addition of ron has to motivate him if he plays for a ring
