Your Rome and Mohr comments show how different our tastes are, which is fine and legit. Rome is talented and knows his medium, at least. Mohr is uber offensive, witless, and points up the worst of Rome IMHO.
he just implied that karl malone and stockton were dirty during games...something everyone knows but doesn't always say outright.
sounds like he's still got a bit of an ego. (paraphrasing) Rome: Talk about Yao. Here's a guy who came in and didn't really seem to have that killer instinct, how... Steve interrupting: That's why I'm here. Rome: But has Yao acquired that killer instinct over the years or is it something where you either have it or you don't? Steve: Yao just worries about playing his game, i wouldn't say it's a kind of rip-your-throat out kind of thing. He's more of a finesse player. Could he have downplayed Yao's improvement any more than he did? then he went on comparing himself to Tmac in that they've been to the all-star game, led the league in scoring, and now it's about winning. He also insisted that Stevie Franchise is still a current term, not a past-tense description. about adelman: said he always hated guarding Bibby because he didn't even have to dribble the ball, so he thinks Adelman will be good for him and the rockets.
just said that he has no ill will towards JVG, and that he probably would have returned to Houston even if he was still here.
SF3 still has a bit of an ego, yes, but so what? It doesn't mean he will be an issue. I mean he just pretty much admitted that he would do the T-Mac trade if he was the Rockets, saying he understands "the business". One thing you must admit though is that Houston loves Franchise...the phone lines lit up the second he came on (there was no one else calling before it). He's still a fan-favorite, so at least from a business standpoint, this can only be good for the Rockets.
Why does EVERYONE always say that? It's so corny now. I swear, If I see that line one more time, I think I'll just throw up A LOT in my mouth.
I think it's a love / hate. There were just as many "Franchise" bashers as lovers calling the stations.
Im so confused, I could of swore I heard him say today on JIm Rome that he is 33 YEARS old??? It was very audible. I know I heard 33. Yet I check the nba website and it says he is only 29. So, does anyone know how old he is and did anyone else catch him say he is 33?
Jim just took my call, I was the caller from Los Angeles after the preacher called in... I was nervous! I've never called in to the Jungle before, but it was great that Jim is showing H-Town some love. I brought up Daryl Morey, Carrol Dawson,, and the trade for Luis as well as Bonzi being a possible contributor next season...
