I ditto that. Don't be like the guy who went fighting and left us hanging..Francis3422 or whatever his name was. You're much better than that, Almu!
I don't think he was speaking to you specifically, just all the people who defended v-span. p.s. as a francis backer it would be really embarrassing if this turns into a v-span/bonzi situation
so far it's starting to look like it, and as long as francis is stuck at the end of the bench, and when rafer has a bad game, or i would even add a good game, we will all hear francis needs to play to get in shape mantra, similar to vspans he neds to play to improve...
I was at the Lakers vs Rockets game last night at the Staple Center. I am Rockets fan who moved to LA 12 years ago, and still continue to follow the Rockets. I was kind of disappointed to see Steve Francis' reaction and body language last night. I was sitting right behind their bench and I noticed that during the game he was not sitting with his teammates, he was laying on the floor away from the rest of the team. During each time out, the whole team would come together and listen to what Adelman was saying or to what other team members were discussing. But Steve would stay away and just walk around looking around the Staple Center or talking to other people. I feel he is a professional and should act like one. He should show Adelman and coaching staff he is willing to prove to them he belongs in the court by being the first one at the practices, the last one to leave, by being right in the middle of the group of players when talking between time outs, by paying attention to what Adelman is saying during time outs so he can better understand what Adelman wants and see how he can use his abilities to help the team. His body language is saying the opposite: he does not care and he is cryinig about it rather than show with his actions he belongs.

Eh, I wouldn't worry about that. You gotta figure this team will have some injury problems before it's all over and Steve will get his chance to play big minutes. I just hope he's ready when it happens. Mentally and physically. That's why his behavior last night was so vexing. Surely he understands that just because he's not in the rotation now, things can change literally over-night and he might be depended on to log 30+ minutes per game at some point.
I'm just hoping my boy Steve gets his act together. He needs to hit the gym and work his ass off, he needs to get motivated and prove everybody wrong, but at the end of the day, he does need to understand whatever role he is here to fill and be a team player. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out, I'm hoping for the best.
Highly recruited? Someone else bought his contract and let him leave. How highly recruited is that? Look, I like steve, but anyone knows that if you want to be part of something and it hasn't materialized, you don't distance yourself from it with a bad attitude, then expect it to get better. I hope he finds his game and a team perspective soon, we will need him to be right when his time comes.
I don't care if he's jumping up and down waving a towel. All I care about is if he gets in shape so we can see if he can help us or not.
I think this is the most important thing all season, and and the overall well being of the team. This is the most important thread we've seen since the playoffs last year. Let's all spend as much time as possible thinking about this VERY CRUCIAL issue.
HTML: Well a good buddy of mine works as a valet at a major hotel in the Gallaria area. From what he tells me Francis parties HARD thurs-saturday when ever he's in town, and would apparently come back to the hotel completely plastered all the time. And from what he says the few conversations he has had with him, he's pretty obnoxious too. I do believe you, I had a friend as well who worked valet and he hates Francis saying he is full of himself, would always pull up and never tip. My friend had his vehicle taken once, but he didn't pull a Rafer.
Well, lets see. Almost every team in the western conference with post season aspirations has a better point guard than us. Dallas, Phoenix, San Antonio, Utah, New Orleans, Denver, Golden State, Sacramento, Clippers when Sam Cassel is healthy, I'll even go out on a limb and say that Steve Blake in Portland is better than Rafer. No, it's not life or death, but it might be just a little important.
Francis used to be one of my favorite players because of his highlight plays and his hustle. I felt that he always played hard and fought for rebounds/loose balls. I didn't expect him to be the way he was last night. I would have understood if this happened after a month or two on the bench. That was just the 1st game and he reported out of shape so he shouldn't be too upset. Did he really come back to Houston to play or was it more of getting the Chinese shoe deal (playing for another team would have lessened his exposure to China fans)?
