I'm glad you put the ALL CAPS on the word "PLAY." That is so descriptive of Francis. He was born with a lot of talent, and he worked hard at "playing" to get where he is today. All those one on one games during the summer made him one hell of a player..........at one on one. All the real work it takes to learn the game from a team standpoint--he doesn't have time for that crap. And why should he. He has.........had..........enougn talent to be on the floor anyway. PLAYING.

Of course, that was then. Some people thought he was just stupid, but I don't think so. I think he's lazy. I know it when I see it because I'm lazy too. He PLAYED hard and it made him good at what he enjoys. He didn't do jack **** to work at the things that would help him to make a team better. Now he's right where he needs to be........the spot he "worked" so hard to earn--buried at the end of the bench.

Man, I didn't even notice Steve's demeanor before this thread...but it shouldn't surprise anyone, he's not going to be happy unless he's on the floor.
I see a couple posts here or in another thread where he passed up opportunities with other teams to be here, but lets be real, if he can't beat out Luther for a rotation spot he was going to be riding the pine on those teams as well.
Get in shape Steve, lay off the donuts.

Well a good buddy of mine works as a valet at a major hotel in the Gallaria area. From what he tells me Francis parties HARD thurs-saturday when ever he's in town, and would apparently come back to the hotel completely plastered all the time. And from what he says the few conversations he has had with him, he's pretty obnoxious too.

He would also fly his boys in from other places to party with him, and that they would pull up to the hotel 4 vehicles deep, and never tips.
heres a pic he sent me of francis, its a really bad picture since its taken by a cell phone so take it for what its worth.

Yeah, I've been meaning to post my buddy's recent photo of Francis also:

You can kind of see Francis with his boys flying into town in the upper part of the photo.

Werent you claiming we were only playing Alston to higher his trade value while Francis would be the starting PG last week? looks like your "insider" knowledge failed you :D

haha well ya like i said take it for what its worth,
but back to the topic at hand francis is really not doing himself any favors fighting for playtime, during the game i would see Snyder, Brook, and Novak getting up and high fiving their teammates and never saw Francis doing the same.

I believe this. Francis' face looks really fat and bloated. Reminds me of when Shawn Kemp had his drinking problems, is it possible that Francis has a problem with alcohol?

Stevie has to get with it. It's obvious that he will have a chance to play with the looks of Rafer and Head last night. But sitting on the floor, not going into huddles and things like that are not helping his case, at all.

Whoa? Did I read this right??? If this is so, then what you're saying is that Carroll Dawson was wrong for having Jeff Van Grumpy run out of town because he refused to give playing time to Spanoullis unless he earned it?

As for SF3, man that certainly was a short honeymoon...

You are right on the first two sentences. However, every player has at least to be in shape in order to see the court. Nobody is born to play NBA. And Rafer's poor performance does not automatically justify Stevie's play time, either. He has to earn it. If I were Adelman, I might wanna put Brooks ahead of Steve based on his attitude, which doesn't help the team chemistry at all.

Im pretty sure JVG getting run out of town had less to do with VSpan and a lot more to do with losing in the playoffs every year.

I agree on the first point that Steve doesn't automatically deserve playing time. He needs to get his but in shape and earn it. I can understand being upset if you don't get into the rotation when you didn't come here to ride the bench, especially if you could have gone to places like the Clippers and been the starter. Yet, he needs to understand that it's not automatic, so time will tell.

Your second point I do not understand. No one has said anything about Steve having a bad attitude or disrupting team chemistry. So what if he laid on the floor instead of sitting on a chair, is no one allowed to do that? So what if he said something to a reporter about it, he was asked the question, he answered as honestly as he could without being overtly negative. He could be like Koby and scream in the media for trades, bad mouth his teamates and coach's etc. but he hasn't done anything like that.
