That's because we were obviously a lot more excited about Steve being back in Houston than Steve was himself. Otherwise he might have been in shape. Hell, even Bonzi got it right this time.

I bet that chinese shoe company feels stupid giving the spoiled brat a contract now.

Right now SF3 has so little game that he's burried on the bench so what's he going to do? Practice harder, support his teammates, or be a cancer on the bench? Last night we all saw the answer to that question.

At least he's not out there playing matador defense, pounding the air out of the ball, dribbling the ball off his foot and jacking up off balance 3 pointers.

Some players just don't fit a coaching style...just ask Bonzi Wells. I think it's the same go for Steve...he has to learn to be a team player rather than jacking up shots. This is what Tmac said, sacrificing for the better of the team...it means let the ball come to you...w/ RA's offense the shots will be there...rather than forcing the shot every chance you get. Granted Mike James still does it occasionally, but Mike learn to play within the concept of the team's superstars as well..that's why Mike is reliable. And i heard Steve is out of shape...so that didn't help.

He is in the same situation that Bonzi in last year...not fitting coaching style and look out of shape. And i think it's hard for anyone that consider a superstar before or "Franchise" not getting any time and his personality and attitude might be a distraction for the team based on the fact he's not willing to change and participate in cheering off the bench. Did you see the entire team coming off the bench standing and cheering last night? Except Steve.

IMO Steve came in with the notion that he was the starter. In the preseason, he was outplayed and outhustled by Rafer (who had something to prove to stay on the team), Mike James and Aaron Brooks. Steve probably didn't think he would lose his job and is sulking because he isn't even in the rotation.

Steve will sulk, cause thats what he does when he doesn't get his way. When he realizes that no amount of sulking is going to work, he'll practice harder and turn Adelman's head a couple of times and make his way to some playing time. Steve has the talent to score off the bench and IMO needs to embrace this role and try to flourish in it to ultimately help the team win.

Steve would no doubt be the MVP this year if Adleman would quit disrespecting him and give him the minutes he so clearly deserves.

    Sincerely,

definately agree with you - stevie needs to be cheering and participating with the team, it is not going to help any with him pouting like a baby on the sidelines. this seems to be the francis that got traded out of vancouver, crying like a little baby. he needs to grow up, accept his role, and if he wants to change it, he needs to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. it's his fault that he came into the team out of shape and not able to play up to his potential. he needs to learn the system better as well.

Steve would be cure cancer, if Adalmen would just let him play enough so that he would be in shape that he can't be in without being the number one option.

It's all with the attitude. He can be mad about not playing but he should take notes, study what is going on out there, use this time to study the game and see what he can do to get better, don't just sit there and pout, be a student and learn the system.

i'm not acting dumb, its called sarcasm. i'm just saying, i still think it's too early to read into this.

hell, i'm a huge francis fan, but if in fact he does become a cancer to the team, then i'm all for getting rid of him.

Much like a Brontosaurus needed water to support its immense weight, Francis now needs the floor. :(

Please be more kind and understanding, if possible. Maybe we can get him a big tub of water near the end of the bench. :(

i dont understand why everyone is so surprised. francis is known for pouting when not getting his way. did you all think he'd be jumping up and down cheering for the team when hes not part of the rotation? no, Francis came here to PLAY, not to cheer on guys from the end of the bench. it's ironic. he came here because he thought he could revive his career, but this'll probably be his worst year in the league.

I don't care about anything that anyone says asbout Steve being a "high recruited free agent" and all that crap.

bottom line is, you are part of a team. you are wearing the rockets jersey... you need to act like you are part of the team. if there is a huddle, and if novak, landry, brooks (ppl in suits) can stand by the huddle... then you need to as well.

I don't care if it is a superstar (which francis is definitely NOT), I would still be pissed if they acted like that. Look what happen to Kobe... his own city booed him because he was dumb to talk about being traded.
We don't say anything about francis, because obviously he is not talking about getting traded to leaving... but if no one corrects him and slaps him around a bit... maybe he will come to that conclusion.

instead of crying and distancing himself from the team, he needs to step up and prove to RA that he can be a starter or that he deserves some minutes. he can kick butt in practices, show some leadership off the court, etc.

And steve has always been the type of player that needs motivation or rules to perform better or get his act together, or else he breaks down.

he was all crying about not being able to play with Mobley.... I mean come on, what are you a kid?

I loved watching him play for us and his passion. I am not questioning that, but that was in the past... he needs to bring that back if he wants a spot on this team.

I have always been a fan of steve and will still be.... but he really needs to act like a man instead of a kid. I hope he does, because I really like him as a player.
