Whos shoulder was Francis leaning on?? Some white guy with a yellow headband. At first i thought it was a laker but it couldnt have been
Yeah theres no doubt about it, Steve was obviously pouting tonight. He was lying on the floor the whole time, and barely even moved when we would make a big shot and the other players jumped up and cheered. He's just making himself look like as ass.
At least Bonzi did his pouting in private, back in the training room running on the treadmill. Yeah, someone had to say it.
I knew there would be some people looking for something to complain about after a win. Now Francis can't even sit on the bench without people analyzing him.
At the moment, I'd rather have Juwon Howard than Steve. At least Juwon knows how to be professional. Yuck - it hurts to write that.
Somebody who was at the game wrote in the other thread that he didn't have a seat on the bench, doesn't that explain why he had to sit on the floor?
Thanks that's what I thought to. Geez this board is full of more and much bigger crybabies than Stevie. I am not condoning pouting by any player but I watched the whole game and only saw that 1 moment of him lying on the floor. In the end if Stevie becomes a distraction to the team than he should go. But I think everyone is blowing this way out of proportion. Stevie has a lot of pride. He definitely believes he is better than Rafer and it bothers him that this guy is getting the starting nod. So what if he is not happy about the way the season has started. He shouldn't be. He is more talented than Rafer. So he didn't come to the season in the best of shape but he didn't come in terrible shape. And he came over here because we pursued him as a fan favorite. That being said if thinks just because he is more talented that he didn't have to show up in the best of shape and that the Job was just going to be handed over to him. He is sorely wrong and is now getting a reality check. Hopefully he will respond to that in due time. I think Stevie can help this team but only if he is willing to alter his style and not as much as people think. The problem is I am not sure if Stevie is capable of altering his style to fit the Rockets. They actually need a point guard more like Rafer only who doesn't suck under pressure and can hit a open shot. I am not even including finishing at the basket. That's a luxury. Stevie has proven to be clutch but he just dribbles way too much and for this team he has to transform his game so that he becomes a pass first type guard and then get in the gym and learn Adelman's system. He needs to work his butt off and then and only then could he be a big help to this team. Especially in the 4th when Yao and Tmac are both being almost exclusively double teamed. But he has to want it for himself and the team. I am not so sure Stevie can do that. I mean he does have a history of crying a bit. Under Rudy he got his way. He b****ed about being drafted by Vancouver and got his way. He b****ed about JVG and got traded but got his way in Orlando. He didn't get the playing time in New York that he wanted and then played out an injury and took an extremely long time to rehabilitate. And did that in Houston instead of staying close to New York and trying to do it their where he could work with their traines. And this off season when everyone else was working hard in Houston and getting some one on one tutoring about Adelman's system Stevie decided to workout in Louisiana instead. I didn't get that but I thought he new what he was doing. And now he has all this money so he doesn't need to play basketball. But if he wants to help this team he better really want to play the game. Perhaps he thought because the Rockets pursued him pretty hard that the starting job would be handed to him on a silver platter. But that is just not the case. Those days are over for Stevie. He will have to earn every minute he gets and that will mean he can't afford to pout on the side. If he can do that he will eventually help. The verdict is still out but I for one am rooting for him... for now.
I like seeing Steve pissed. He's going to do one of two things. Start killing in practice and take Luther or Rafer's minutes. Or he's trade bait or waived. AB is waiting in the wings anyway.
He didn't come back to Houston to be a cheerleader, just let it go, if this is what you guys are paying attention to all year, then ya are not real basketball fans. The game is on the court not on the sidelines. If he is unhappy of the playing time, so be it. Hope things work out for him, stop making it a big deal.
Maybe we should pitch in and get him some Poms Poms cause that is what everyone seems to want him to be Rocket River
