Have you seen Marbury's playoff numbers?

Do you know what Marbury said after he was traded to Phoenix? "I'd like to see him take this team to the playoffs," do you remember what he did? Took them to the Finals 2 years in a row! Yes, Marbury and the Nets did have some injuries, but still enough to make it to at LEAST the playoffs, when after trading him and getting Kidd they make it to the Finals 2 years in a row. The problem with the Nets with Marbury is that they weren't thinking about winning FIRST, because their "leader" was too busy caring about himself FIRST, or did you already forget the I STAND ALONE trash he'd scribble on his sneakers?

You haven't even seen them if you're really impressed by them. Somebody please look them up and show this guy that Marbury chokes in the playoffs, show him that he doesn't even hit 35% of his shots, that he doesn't get as many assists a game, that he shoots over 20 times a game, and that his TOs more than likely go up.

You really don't have a clue about basketball talent if you believe that. Francis and Yao were better than their PG and C, after that there was nothing, Mike Miller was better than Cuttino, Posey better than Jackson, Gasol better than Cato, and their bench makes the Rocket's bench look like the Bobcat's bench. As for the MAX player comment? Does the money they make even matter? You know Allan Houston, Stephon Marbury, Juwon Howard, Elton Brand, Tracy McGrady, Gilbert Arenas are all MAX players too, where are their 50 win seasons? Fact of the matter is, the money a player makes has NOTHING to do with how good they are, how much they'll produce, or how much their teams win, it's all on the PLAYER to take care of all of that, just ask Jeff Bagwell.

More clueless comments. First of all when has Marbury ever had to "carry" a team? Minnesota? Hell no, but give him credit that he didn't manage to screw it up. New Jersey? Yes, he had to carry them good job, right? Phoenix? Not from what I saw, but you can make a case for it, but don't forget his first and last season there. New York? Yes, his first respectable job. Supporting cast? In Minnesota I don't remember that team player for player, but he had one player that was better than Yao in Garnett, and another that was at LEAST his equal in Googs, as far as leading those two teams I'd say Terry Porter and Sam Mitchell were more of a leader than he was. In Phoenix, Yao and Francis were again better than their opponents, and AGAIN that's where that stops, they were better at every other position.

    Those commercials are teh funnay.

Plublicist or not, nice move by Franchise. I wish him, Cat and Cato all the best and hope to see them in the Finals one day. Another 4-0 sweep of Orlando on the main stage would be deece.

    wow.

sane, thats pretty bad. your trying to fight a losing battle. starbury is ma boy, a product of tha BK, but he is not as good as francis. he is a better scorer, and a craftier passer, but he is not a better all around player.

all you did was spin your opinion with some meaningless win totals in order to hide the fact that your arguement is pure point of view. hell, i don't think you even watch starbury play.

if you hated franchise, starbury would sent you into siezures of rage. he had 3 good games for the knicks, and all he could do was score. he didn't distribute, he didn't lead, and he sure as hell cant shoot. i would LOOOOOVE zeke to trade starbury for francis, but it will never happen, coney island's finest fills the garden. the magic will be better than the knicks, and it will be funny to see stephon yell out "whos the REAL allstar!" to steve 4 games a year, when my knicks are stinking up the weakest division in the east.

    sigh.

Thank you MD. Anybody who lives in the 212, 646, 917, or 718 area codes and watches the knicks on a semi regular basis knows that Stephon didn't bring much to the table last year. He somehow manages to put up superior numbers to francis, as far as A-T ratio goes, and his teams do worse. Hell, at least Francis says the right things. Marbury doesn't even bother with that.

No offense man, but your whole argument is really weak. You're making it sound as if since Marbury has been to the playoffs more times, but been on less winning teams he's the better player. Let's take a look at Marbury's career, shall we:

Year 1) 40-42 (0-3) as the 3rd best player on the team
    Year 2) 45-37 (2-3) as the 3rd best player
    Year 3) 16-34 lockout season
    Year 4) 31-51
    Year 5) 26-56
    Year 6) 36-46
    Year 7) 44-38 (2-4)
    Year 8) 39-43 (0-4)

Okay, so there's 2/4 playoff appearances when he was the 3rd best player on the team. Forgive me for having a hard time counting this year's playoff "apperance" in NY considering the Suns were well on their way to the lottery before Marbury was traded for garbage mid-season. Which leaves, one "legit" playoff apperance as a team's best player like Francis has been throughout his entire career. One. Also, please in the course of digesting this do not forget he has been on two above .500 ball clubs. 2/8.

I respect your opinion, but nothing you can say is going to convince me that:
    1) Marbury is better than Francis
    2) Marbury has more trade value than Francis
    3) Marbury has "clearly" been the more successful player

Hey, i'm happy with a Top 5 player in T-Mac. While the Suns can be happy with.....ummm.....ohhh yeah, Macho Lamphei, respectively, for trading their superstar PG's.
