I really hope Steve's Houston events and charities don't bottom out now that he's gone and Tmac is in.
To: leroy420 - I couldn't have said it better myself!!! Way to go!! Vote for Stevie in east, he is still an all star in my league
I'm really going to miss Stevie and Cat...what they lacked in b-ball IQ they really tried to make up for with heart and devotion to the Rockets. I hope they go on to great things in Orlando..they deserve as much.
I really like Steve and Cuttino, and I wish them well in Orlando...as long as they aren't playing us!!!! Classy ad, Steve!!!! (However I love the T-Mac trade)
Did he have a choice? When has it been required to go out the way to thank the fans of a team that traded you away? He definitely had a choice. Even if he wanted to keep good will in an effort to promote the slam fest, all he had to do was say he'll always have fond memories of the days in Houston and it's fans. Instead the guy pays for an ad, and expresses his appreciation. That's going beyond just hyping an upcoming event. Extremely classy move on Steve's part.
You know one of the big reasons why I was happy that the trade went down was that I thought I'd be rid of the rediculous and constant trashing Steve and other Rockets. Maybe just maybe people could be positive on this board for once. I guess not. Trashing him in this thread at least shows me the posters that have no class whatsoever.
Couldn't agree more. Whether you liked him or not, he's gone. Why make a mockery of yourself with your biased opinion by attacking Steve for an altruistic effort? This battle should be over.
"Good riddance Steve, how could you turn the ball over so much? are you that dumb?" "um...uh..... thank you?" "who me? aww we miss you!"
This wasn't a one-time thing. Steve handled himself in a classy manner during the time he was a Rocket, and this move was entirely in character. You won't find statements of his attacking the organization or the fans during his tenure. You can fault his decision making (on and off the court) but one thing you can never find fault with is his heart. I wish Steve Francis the best of luck in Orlando.
Remember however that Steve's tenure does in fact include refusing to go to Vancouver. I wonder if he created a thank you card for those fans as well. Don't believe he did! He has class when he wants to show it just like he could pass when he wanted to as well.ITS ALL ABOUT STEVE.I loved the guy but it's to easy to see he is just a posterchild wanna be and that's it. With that much money made off of a community I would hope that he is doing charity work here. Personally I would say the city of Houston gave much more to Steve Francis than he may ever give back.I hope he proves me wrong, but that's the problem it's not to be expected. That don't give anymore to the community than did ENRON. Thanks Steve for the highlights over the last few years, atleast we all get ESPN. We shouldn't miss him that much. I hope those kids really appreciate what you're doing for them.It will get back to you in the end STEVE.
It was a nice heart-felt letter. Does everytime someone does something nice there have to be some excuse why he did it. For you Steve haters shut up, hes gone like you wanted. The letters not to you anyway, it to these fans who have supported him through his stay in houston. Not for those of you who blasted him his entire career. Regardless of his flaws he was the best rocket for the past few years and thats what I love about him, He played his heart out for the rockets. Let's just say goodbye, thanks for what he did do, and hope T-Mac left his loser attitude in Orlando. Because for his sake if he doesn't live up to the hype the Houston Hater club will be blasting him to. And were not here to slam the rocket player we are here to support them through ups and downs. Bye to Francis, Cato, and Mobley and best of luck in Orlando, maybe the magic fan page will treat ya'll with a little more respect.
