What I'm saying is, that from a management point of view it puts fans in the stands. Money is the cure all, if we can get more fans behind this team, more players may actually sign with us as free agents, the better the free agents, the better the team. The part where the Lakers got it wrong was when they let some kid take the wheel and steer, then when he hit a tree he cried to be traded. I don't SF3 would be in a position to do that, neither Yao or T, and I certainly don't see Les thinking its a good idea to build a team around Shane, all though, it would be an interesting thing to see.
this is all probably moot right about now: <a href="/nba/rumors/post/Heat-Clippers-Mavs-could-sign-Francis?urn=nba,38907">Heat, Clippers, Mavs could sign Francis</a></h4> <p class="date">Wednesday, Jul 11, 2007 1:51 pm EDT</p> </div> <div class="bd"> <div class="small"><img src="http://f3.yahoofs.com/ymg/ept_sports_rumors/ept_sports_rumors-625978237-1167933630.jpg?ym_St08Cvo.XBTin" alt="Steve Francis" border="0" height="160" hspace="0" vspace="0" width="160"><p class="credit">Getty Images</p></div><p><a href="http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3325/">Steve Francis</a> is a free agent after his contract was bought out by Portland.</p><p>Francis will get a chance to revive his career in a more favorable situation. While Steve may get more money from other team, but playing on Rockets may worth a lot more for him than just the salary. If Battier gets offer from Chinese companies for just playing one season with the Rockets, just imagine the offers Steve will get....
BOATLOAD more from a Chinese endorsement deal. I'd like to have him back. If Adelman can't figure out how to best use him or he turns into a knucklehead, then cut him and eat the small salary.....It' really a no-brainer. We need talent and Stevie has talent and will be cheap for two years.....
Just because that's what's reported doesn't mean it's true. Alot of people thought we had a good shot at Lewis with Lewis being his hometown and all. The Rockets and Lewis were all over the news, but apparently we were his 5th or 6th option. The Clips, Mavs, and Heat make a lot of sense for those teams, but Francis wants to be back in Houston. He made that clear last season when the idea of a Knicks buyout was thrown around. The question now is whether Morey and Adelman think he's worth bringing on. It's probably still a week out before anything's official since that's the waiver period.
If home is where the heart is then SF3 will be in H-Town. Playing again with Yao or playing with his bro Mobley? I believe he will more than likely choose Mobley.
are you serious? What you all saw in the playoffs is what you get he sucks and bring steve francis here. when you are done with this call detriot tell them u will give them sura, head, and rafer for rasheed they just might do it because chuncy just signed and they do have young pf waiting around to play oh yeah did i say Head really sucks
LLE is what he will sign for. this is a deal you just don't pass up: re-signing your franchise player for the LLE while you still have the player you traded him for. BTW, SF was not run out of town, half the people still wanted him to stay, which happens to be the same half that want him back... along with a bunch of other people who would love to have an all-star level talent for the LLE . Again at the LLE , how can you not sign him? Oh I know, because you already have 12 of your 15 roster spots filled by guards. Are we still in the offseason? Trade that glut because SF is still worth an LLE gamble in my book. A point I don't think most people are understanding or absorbing is that we are talking about the LLE , Come on back down Stevie.
I'd take him back in a second. Unless we really work some magic, we'll probably end up with a semi-scrub at PF either way. Might as well have Stevie back. Francis + TMac + Bonzi + Battier + Yao? Ridiculous.
Maybe if he could 'will' us to victory like other superstars in the league he could be a 'winner'. I mean, how many of our players are winners on the Rockets? Why is being a 'winner' all of a sudden a Rockets player requirement? Why does SF have to be arbitrarily evaluated through some subjective lens of being a 'winner'? And of course that begs the question, what is a winner? Barkley perhaps? Come on dude, go back to recess. Sorry, its just that I have had a life-long struggle against winners, so I have to stick up for all the non-winners out there. Yes, that's right, I'm a loser.
dude the guy cries on draft day about being picked by a team in a city he does not want to play in (man up and play there). I then give him a pass because he seems like a young guy who just wants to market himself and I give it up to Steve he plays hard. Now there were parts of his game I never liked but I was a Francis guy until the Super Bowl issue, as soon as this happened I started to go back and remember all his stupid quotes and I am not sure how anyone can defend his behavior since he has left the Rockets.
Is McGrady a winner? He seems like quite the loser to me. Like Francis, he got bounced out in the first round, and he even had a better, more experienced Yao Ming to support him.
Yao Ming (I think it's because he was never 100% after the injury) is a hell of alot more to blame for the loss to Utah than T-Mac. If you take Mac off the Rockets and put Steve in his place the Rockets lose to the Jazz in 5
