It would be for the LLE, because that's the amount about in difference from the buyout, if I understand how buyouts work correctly.

So he's basically priced himself into the LLE with that buyout I think.

i think that's only the case if a team picks him up off waivers.

would you rather the rockets sign one of the 4s available or try and trade for one?

from the given list, i'm choosing trade.

It's interesting that all the articles earlier had him coming to the Rockets, but not anymore. They keep citing LAC, LAL and the Heat ... but not Rockets. Adelman or Morey must not like him. I think he'd be an asset, as long as his knees are OK, and his attitude good. We desperately need more talent infusion, and have so few pieces to deal. He's an easy add.

Actually, I don't see James at the PG, but at SG, since I believe Head will be traded. If Francis comes here, I think it'll be more like this:

    Yao/Deke
    vet in trade/Hayes/Landry
    TMac/Battier/Novak
    James/Wells/VSpan
    Francis/Alston/Brooks

The fact JL3 didn't play in summer league probably means he knows he's gone, so I expect him to be let go. I expect Head/Snyder/Sura and maybe VSpan's contract to be traded for a vet and perhaps another player who can backup C and PF.

I'd love Francis to sign for the LLE, and still grab Amir Johnson and a vet in trade, but I have a feeling, all we'll get is a vet PF we won't like that much. It doesn't look like Morey is pursuing Johnson. So, it'll probably look more like this:

    Yao/Deke
    crappy vet in trade/Hayes/Landry
    Battier/Snyder/Novak
    TMac/Wells/VSpan
    Alston/James/Brooks

... just a little better than last year, but not much, certainly not championship caliber ... SAS, DAL, PHO, UTA, even GSW will probably be better ... I don't think TMac will be happy, no matter how he puts a good spin on it. We won't have Howard's professionalism in the crunch and Deke will be a year older. Of course, Yao could step up and make all the difference in the world, and having James and Wells, with Novak stepping up could certainly help. It all depends on what Morey does for us at the PF position.

I sure wish we'd do what it took to get some key young talent, though, to put beside him, like an Amir Johnson or Cedrick Simmons, who can grow into a significant starter in a couple years, instead of just doing what will help us a little this year. They've got to be building a team that can be with Yao in his prime, or our window of opportunity will fizzle soon.

With Mike James on the team, what's the point? As Tom Wolfe once wrote, you can't go home again.

I think Stevie will come here for relatively cheap. Go for it, but DO NOT trade Luther!

Yes, because I always like to choose "yes" for any crazytrade.

Bring him back and trade alston for Mobley, and sign Cato again, finally we find we stole TMac and MJ from trade at the 3 years ago.

I don't like anything that's cheap. Get a PF in a trade and a backup C with MLE.

Yes, finally! Make it happen, Rockets. Bring back the Franchise!

I think if JVG were still here, it might happen, but I'm not too confident in the Adelman/Morey era bringing him back.:(

I voted No for Francis. Who needs Francis when you have great PG's such as Brooks and JL3?

It sounds like a lot of you would be happy with SF and James as our top two point gaurds. Two selfish PG's that like to dribble the air out of the ball does not sound the like the makings of a winning basketball team. Could make for a good street ball team though.

If we got Francis, I could see our lineup looking like this.

Francis, James (I don't care who starts and both can play the 2 sometimes), Brooks
    Bonzi, Snyder
    Tmac, Bonzi, Novak
PF from trade , Hayes, Novak, Landry
    Yao, Deke

Assets we can choose for a trade for a PF, Battier, Sura, Alston, VSpan,
