Apparently Houston likes Mobley for his quickness. She says from a trade standpoint it is attractive to both Houston and LA. LA gets their PG and if they get Head, they still have the outside shooting they need. We clear roster space for Francis to come over and play backup PG, and bringing Mobley (Francis' BFF) back would be extra incentive for Francis (although he says he doesnt need any). Morey/Dawson like Mobley because of his quickness, his shooting ability, is able to defend better than Head and is "good PR" for the Rockets. They want to be able to brag that they pretty much traded Cato for TMac.
I'm a little suspicious of anything that says I heard from a cousin who's friend's boyfriend is . . . etc. But, the whole Mobley talk has me doubly suspicious that it's all a bunch of lies. However, since I've given up on just about any claims on this board because of the craziness over the past two days (no thanks to Berman's announcement), I'm not going to bash TManic. All we can do now is wait for something official.
Mobley played pretty well for Adelman in Sacramento that one year he was there. He is on the books for 3 more seasons at 8.4,9.1 and 9.8 million. His contract ends the same year as Rafer's.
Adelman does have experience with Mobley... he could like his game with how well Mobley played in Sac-Town... God I hate these rumors. I want to believe you guys simply due to my excitement, but at the same time they seem too perfect to ever happen in the real world...
Completely forgot that Mobley played for Adelman... stars look to be aligning. Again, the ONLY CONFIRMED news I got from TJ (the girl dating Monta, cousin of Nate Peak, friends with Francis, etc etc etc) is that Francis has already decided on Houston and will be announcing this tonight. The Mobley talk is her speculation based on her conversations with Francis and with her cousin Nate Peak.
LOL, yeah if Francis comes here I am sure he is looking for a way to clear out the PG glut for himself and get his best friend in the process.
Hey man, makes sense to me... Especially if he already played for the Rockets, already played for Adelman, etc. I also agree with my source that it works out for the benefit of both teams...
If we get Mobley, Head would definately be outta here. Alston too most likely. Both of those guys don't even come close to the Mobley salary. So we'd have to throw in someone else. That would be Sura's expiring contract. On the other hand, possibly Head, Sura, and Snyder would get that deal done...but if I were the Clippers I wouldn't do that. Alston/Head/Sura's contract most likely to get the deal done for Mobley.

Tmaniac - Thanks for the scoop on Steve Francis. I sure want to believe that you're right. The Mobley thing seems far too wild for my senses and I have to say that part of the conversation should be left alone. The Clippers aren't looking to move Cuttino.
If all that happened and we, in some you couldn't make stuff like this up way, ended up with Mobley and SF3 the T-mac deal would have to go down as the worse trade ever, period
We also have Reed to toss in there if we want. I don't think Reed has much of a chance at cracking our roster, and IMHO, I think Morey just got him as an extra trade piece. Maybe Head, Snyder, Reed, and Sura's expiring contract for Mobley. Unlikely though since I don't think Morey likes 4 for 1 deals unless we're the ones giving up one player for four.
Nah, we don't need to throw Reed in....I think if Morey did this, we'd be asking for another player from the Clippers. It would be the blockbuster trade of the season.
Why is everyone against getting more guards, but as soon as Mobley comes up, everyone is all over it? Id take Francis back, but I dont miss Mobley...
