LMFAO at people assuming Francis will go broke in a few years because he had a drunken incident at the airport.

No, not because of that, because he is a dumbass...that will be wasting his money trying to chase that former glory.

    ;)

I was a big fan of Stevie's back in the day, I knew we wouldn't win with him, sad to see him fall so far.

I didn't imply anything but you certainly misinterpreted me. There's a difference between education and intelligence. I never discussed Intelligence. My initial remark focused on the lack of education of most NBA players that contribute to their financial and personal problems when their careers end. In that sense, yes, they are "dumb" but that has nothing to do with their innate intelligence. A 60% rate of bankruptcy within five years of retirement confirms my statements. Imagine what that rate becomes in 10 or 20 years?

More assumptions. I don't give a rip about Shaq's family situation. He's a "dumbass" and I think he knows it too. Like you, he's desperately insecure so he tries to pile up his "MBA" and "PHD" credentials. The guy is a clown who doesn't realize part of the reason people laugh at his jokes is he's so pathetic and dumb.

There you go again. Arguing emotionally and attacking on a personal level.

Your attachment to NBA players seems to go beyond fandom and sports to something much more personal and deeper. When Kobe scores, does RV6? When Shaq signs a multi-million dollar deal, does RV6? Maybe in your mind, a part of you thinks you do. You're pathetic. No wonder you get so butt hurt whenever the slightest criticism is flung towards an NBA player.

I'll end this by saying, RIP Steve Francis. He was a good player but I will not be shocked if he ends up bankrupt in 5-10 years or worse.

LMFAO! I can't believe the reaction I get from saying most NBA players are uneducated!!!

Dude....Shaq, Kobe are mega millionaires. They're loaded. Rich. Famous. They would not care what anyone says about them. I never said they're not intelligent. I think Kobe and Shaq are both intelligent and will continue to be super successful after their career ends because of the business opportunities their fame and fortune presents them. Each are icons, mega labels unto themselves.

They are going to make millions more, maybe billions after their career ends, especially Shaq. The guy is loved by the masses. He's an icon. Forget Lebron and Tiger Woods. Shaq has the potential to be a billionaire. He's got charisma, personality, he's "bigger than life". He's going to utilize all that after his playing days are over.

Don't stress about what someone says on a bbs! lol. I wish I was worth a tenth of what these guys make!

doesn't matter. I think the fact that someone goes to get one from there says something about the person. Shaq had millions in the bank. He helps with local PDs where ever he is.

    Also
    intelligence <> Success
    even in business . . . .
Some folx are gifted liars . . .others are ruthlessly cruel
check the numbers. . .PHDs routinely make less than MS
    [from the stats I recall]

You Shaq have MILLIONS without basketball???
    Probably not
neither would most writers without printing pressed
    singers without worldwide distribution
Mike Dell and Bill Gates would not be as rich if it weren't for computers

Easy to pick someone's specialty then say . . well if it were for that they
    would not be as successful
Individual Talents catering to Individual Circumstances is what America is about.

    Monetary Success <> Intelligence

    Rocket River
this is argument. . . is exactly what we think it is.

    Doing best
To write every line as a haiku but random
    ramblings try to make sense

Use strange symbols that mean nothing <>
I once knew a person named Individual Circumstances
that is why i capitolized it

throwing a random X at folx is cool too
Now must go to D&D to try to make sense
    at nothing

    i love... lamp

It doesn't take a college education to use a calculator. For you to make that comment it means you're questioning their innate intelligence, not education. It also doesn't take a college education to simply "function" in the real world, which you also stated. Plenty of people don't attend college and still hold down a full time job and raise a family with no problem.

That stat doesn't confirm anything when it's not scientific. An "educated guess" can simply be an NBA insider coming up with a ball park figure based on his own experiences.

I'm insecure because i'm defending someone else? Yeah, that makes sense.

Your whole point is based on what happens after they retire, not while they're playing. You're saying they're dumb because they go broke after retirement, but 2 of the 3 players you're focused on are still active and none of the 3 have gone bankrupt. Sounds more like jealousy rather than logic.

Saying i hope you're filthy rich is a personal attack? In what world?
Or was it the part of this logic also applying to you too? Why would it be? You come off as someone who's succesful or at the very least thinks they are. It's very likely you caught some good breaks in your time that allowed you to reach your current level. Had those opportunities/breaks not presented themselves it's likely you wouldn't have been as succesful. Same logic you're applying to NBA players. If that means i'm personally attacking you, then you're personally attacking them as well. Sounds like hypocrisy.

It's a basketball forum, if you don't want any fan defending any player, then go to a non-basketball forum. Better yet, a non-entertainment forum, since all that fantasy stuff upsets you.

I've always found this argument particularly dumbfounding. It happens all the time here that someone here says "X player is a dumbass" and the standard answer is "Well they have 100 million dollars in the bank, do you?" It seems a lot of people seem to think the number of zeros on a person's bank account are a measure of their intelligence. By no means am I gonna be the one to judge other people or my own's intelligence, but I think the amount of money a person has is by no means a measure of it. I am pretty sure you can come up with some examples of intelligent, inspiring, POOR people yourself...

You people want to talk about the intelligence level of NBA players, do it in a thread started for that purpose....this has nothing to do with Francis getting arrested.

and since I know non of yall are actually gonna quit talking about it here...
