If appearing intoxicated and becoming boisterous gets Steve Francis arrested, he should have been locked up his entire second stint with the Rockets.

It's a little early for the pre-game Superbowl party.

Update from Yahoo: LAX police: Steve Francis arrested for being drunk

LOS ANGELES (AP)—Los Angeles International Airport police say three-time NBA all-star Steve Francis(notes) has been arrested for alleged public drunkenness.

Airport spokesman Albert Rodriguez says Francis was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Thursday because he was intoxicated, unable to care for himself and combative toward staff.

Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department records show Francis posted $10,000 bail and was released around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 5.

The 33-year-old averaged 18.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.0 assists in nine seasons with Houston, the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks. He was an All-Star in 2002, 2003 and 2004. He was waived by the Grizzlies in 2009.

Damn I feel really sorry for him, he could've been future hall of famer if he had his head straight.

You may be one of the few to recall that I brought this up during his second year with the Rockets. I was verbally attacked by his adoring fans. I used to work as a counselor with substance abusers. All the early signs were there.

Just curious. Are you guys saying that the headache thing was alcohol related?

FYI, he was diagnosed with Meniere's disease and alcohol can aggravate the headaches caused by it...not sure if that's what they were implying though.

Not necessarily, but RV6 is on point. Steve had a rep for some hard partying when he was with the Rockets. A pattern seemed to set up and then the signs and symptoms of alcohol abuse began to appear. There were "jokes" about drug abuse on the board, but to me they weren't funny. Substance abuse promises you "heaven" and takes you straight to "hell." I hope he gets help before he destroys his life. That's all I wish to say.

I'm with Easy. I'm having a hard time recalling anyone really talking about this on the bbs, certainly not during his first stint. I guess I totally missed it.

Oh crap, I never thought of that.

A couple of years ago a friend of mine told me that he'd seen Francis with a ridiculous amount of purple drank.
