One huge thing in the boxscore that impressed me -> G.Hill 17 Min!! Man I love Hill, I hope everything keeps improving for him. He was like a fusion of jason kidd and penny hardaway in their primes.
Steve and Cuttino are going to do fine with the Magic. I think it benefits particularly Steve to get out of a system which really hindered his skills. Cuttino is going into the season knowing that he will opt out after the season. Both have motivations to prove they are premiere players in the NBA. However, I do not think they are going to top the the Heat. They will probably finished 2nd in their division though.
Thanks for the report. How are the fans responding to the new guys? I'm sure they are excited to have a brand new team, just like us. Are there any grudges against Francis since he didn't want to go to Orlando?
Many people expected them to win their division after the trade. And then Shaq was traded to the Heat.
i'm rooting for Grant Hill....one of the nicest guys in the NBA for sure...actually met the guy in Detroit.....he is sooo down to earth when he talks to people.... good luck to him.
Oh, looks like Steve's got a new favorite big man that he can jump all over. But seriously, I like the way Steve takes new players under his wings. He's a good guy.
Man, Steve really likes jumping on people's backs...that's probably what injured Hakeem his last few years!
I am extreemly happy for Grant Hill and his progress so far. I really like the magic team now. Especially with the early signs of good news on Dwight Howard. They should be an exciting bunch this season and if Grant Hill can continue to progress steadily, this team could be a force to reckon with in the East.
I think i like the magic as much as the rockets this year. I just cant stop watching these guys francis, mobley, cato. I think im gonna get league pass just to watch them. Does anybody know how many of their games i can get this season?
if dwight howard played so well in this game why cant we get a stat sheet of his points blks and rebounds???
18 points, 9 rebounds on 8/12 shooting (6 dunks). He went 2/8 from the line. If he would have made half of them, orlando would have won and he would have score over 20 points also. Don't get me wrong, the kid is raw but he will get plenty of open looks with Cat, Stevie and Grant Hill on the team as long as he doesn't have hands of stone like Cato.
Tracy McGrady.. Hello? TMac!! Earth to sad people!! Listen, I liked Steve as much as anyone when we first got him, and he is a super-talented guy.. but just keep trying to remember: the grey stuff between the ears, basketball-wise, just WAS NOT THERE. Maybe he will mature, and his game will mature along with him. In which case, perhaps we will get the sublime joy some day of seeing a Rockets/Magic FINALS. Until then, every time you feel sad about Steve, just remember these two words: TRACY MCGRADY Thank you.
