Just dreamcasting when I should be working, and I came up with this one: If it is true that Krause is enamored with Ming, how about this one:

Houston trades to Chicago:

#1 pick
#15 pick
Moochie Norris
Drew Obligation

Chicago trades to Houston:

#2 pick
Eddy Curry
Fred Hoiberg

Chicago picks Ming #1, Houston picks JWill #2.

JWill takes Moochie's place in Rudy T's famed three-guard lineup. Curry becomes our center of the future. Krause gets the major exposure he desires by having the No. 1 pick and by drafting the marketing sensation. He gets a good point guard to complement Crawford. He can pick a SG at 15, say a Kareem Rush. The Rockets get migrane insurance. Yao gets to live on campus at the University of Chicago. Everybody's happy.

IF Troyboy is correct, (and I think he very well could be) then that is very depressing news. It means that the inmates have taken over the asylum. It means Steve has such a high opinion of himself, he truly believes he is the franchise. It would be nice if Steve had decided to learn to run the break, defend and get his teamates involved in the games before he annointed himself gm of the team.

If Troy is correct, it means Rudy and Carrol are a couple of panty-waist eunochs. If Troy is correct, I would put Steve on a level with my 16 year old daughter. The difference being the basketball skills.

Depressing.

ease up on troy...you guys who are so hard on him yet turn around and jock the wide open predictions of our so called 'insiders'

I have read countless posts from our so called bbs legends and the only one i can remember as being worth 2 sh*ts was the one by rocket34 or whatever his name was overhearing about the francis trade at a shopping mall...since then I cannot think of one thing our 'insiders' have predicted that has been posted here..

who is legit before you talk sh*t?? show me links before and after it happened with tangible names and no cryptic sh*t or every freaking possibility imaginable..

then you can say 'I told you so'

my take is the conversation here is fun but nobody here or anywhere except very tight circles within the org has a f*cking clue whats going to happen..

I agree with you will. Steve needs to look no further than KG in minn to see what happens when you lose every yr in the first round. Without something inside, no matter how good your guards are, teams will defend us just like last yr with the soft zone. You can play that fabaled 3 guard lineup, but when teams force you into the middle of the d and the little guys have to jump to see a passing lane, to's occur.

I'm not going to say ming is the cure all, but even the wc teams were doubling him and that a testament to him. Those guard alignments look good, but it all comes down to getting high quality looks in the nba. Jay Williams and Francis in the backcourt made as much sense as Mike Bibby and Francis. All it does it lowers the shooting % and puts us at a disadvantage on the on defense.

aelliot: Hey, can we just have a forum where you are the only one posting stuff and I'm the only one reading it. I think I'd have more fun. :D

Everyone: Funny thing is, Troy could be right AND wrong. It wouldn't be totally out of character for Francis to have a tantrum about something. Hell, it wouldn't be out of character for 80 percent of the NBA players to throw a tantrum about something. Big deal.

Even if he was right in what he was told, that doesn't mean the end result of what might happen TODAY is the same as what may happen in a month or six months or a year.

Troy: I think the problem you have here isn't the information. The problem is in your delivery. If you weren't so damn smug in your presentation, people might take you seriously. But no one (yourself included) wants someone to say, "Whatever. I'm right and you'll all be begging my forgiveness" to them.

Frankly, even if you WERE right, I doubt very many here would give you the satisfaction of admitting it because of the way you delivered the info in the first place.

The only thing I got out of reading this entire thread was a little older and a lot dumber.

Okay, maybe there's some entertainment value here too. :)

Thought this deserved re-posting.

Troy, I don't blame you for being a little defensive in the sense of "here's what I've heard; take it or leave it." If you're not Doc Rocket, Clutch, or Oeilpere and you present unpopular information, people are going to rag on you. I personally hate it if I'm telling the truth and no one believes me.

At the same time you started this thread practically picking a fight. I understand you don't want Ming, etc., but if you burst into a room of Democrats throwing copies of evidence about Clinton committing perjury at people and yelling "HA", you can't expect people to be gracious about it.

You said you like "debate" and aren't here to make friends, so if this is what you like, fine. But there are (subtler) more effective ways of getting a point across.

I apologize if I come across condescending.

ESPN is reporting that Denver is dangling Antonio McDyess for the #1 pick. It'll take more than that, I hope.

As far as Stevie bolting if Ming comes to Houston, well...go for it, Stevie.

Ming is exactly what this team has lacked since Hakeem was in his prime. Ming is also the only person alive who has a chance to stop Shaq. If you are going to win the title out of the West, you have to get past the Fakers.

This team desperately needs a forceful presence at the center position. Steve Francis would be a fool to leave if the Rockets draft Yao Ming.

Everyone chill out on Troy, the band wagonners and anyone else with a counter opinion to the majority.

Troy may not have had the best delivery, but he is a direct kinda guy and we all know that. Troy is also an avid fan who does not miss a game....so he wants what is best for everyone...he is also the messenger here and we do not want to crucify the messenger. Let calm heads prevail.

Whoever said that he really did not hang his neck out it dead on. Even if he appears not to be correct, he is only repeating what his source heard. I doubt he is pubbing himself for a kicker. Troy merely stated what he heard through one of his sources and from his perspective it is true. It may still be true even though we draft Ming and sign Stevie. The point being that we should welcome the possibility and discussion around the idea that the Great Wall may not wind up here. It at least makes for interesting discussion versus planning on Yao Ming...

The only problem is now do I have a Chinese Buffet or a Rib and Shrimp menu for my annual draft party....

Memo to Troy: get more scoopage, so I can plan the draft party menu!!!!:D

I assume that you're talking about the headline for ESPN insider?
It's kind of misleading. In the article Chad Ford throws out a McDyess deal as an idea.

Here's the quote from the Chad Ford article:

Here, in my opinion, is the best deal they could get for the No. 1 pick.

Antonio McDyess and the No. 5 pick for Mo Taylor, Eddie Griffin, Jason Collier and the No. 1:

Once you get in and read the article, you'll see that it's just Chad Ford pitching an idea, it doesn't say that Denver has proposed such a deal.

I didn't get the rationale. I could see him saying that about taking a guard.

The only possible way that makes sense is if he wants a veteran, or really thinks we need to draft a SF - which we could trade down to do.

I don't believe it.

And that's all he ever has. Proposals, that in most other people's opinions, don't make any sense at all. Anything else is just agent-fed angling. Don't ever listen to reporters whose main sources are agents looking to enhance their clients' value. You think Dutt and Babby would love that deal? Damn straight...

Someone should tell Mr. Ford that proposal is horrible. Hell, lets just toss in Francis and Mobley for Howard and put that proposal off the charts.

Now, that was funny.

Hey Troy-
I wouldn't doubt you. Steve has had a history of doing such things. I am one of Steve's biggest fans. I love his heart and I love most of his game. If you have a chance, go back since he was traded to Houston and check out how many times I defended him. But, if he wants to be the GM then perhaps he should leave.

If he was really serious then do me a favor. Tell Steve this,"We will really miss you. And, don't let the door hit you in your arse on the way out. Your head is getting bigger than the gap between your canines." It doesn't have to be word for word but something similar.

The Rockets were CHAMPIONS before him and will be again with or without him.

I apologize in advance if this is not true!
