Thats the problem with you people just because we Draft Jay Will does not mean he is gonna start or even play PG who is to say he might play another position.

I won't be hurting anyone in the end but I will be laughing at those who think this is bull.
I guess his last word interview today was bull too..haha what the hell ever.
You guys think a player is gonna come out on live tv and say I do not want a specific player? Read between the lines he said he did not want a PG but in a player he wants Jay Williams.
You people should know by now Francis makes decisions as well.

Actually he can not sign the extension until next month even if he wants to (which he said he will). And when asked who he would like to pick in various interviews (Rome show even). He has deferred the responsability to Carroll Dawson and said that he has faith in his decision making abilities. He also said that he respects Cato but that he is inconsistent.

Why the hell would he want to leave if Ming were to play in Houston?

So he can get more opportunities to score? So doesnt have to rebound as much and run a fast break? So he can avoid double teams and create more off the dribble?

Ming does nothing but help make Steve Francis' job as PG that much easier!

How can your source be 100% right? Surely your source will only be proven right IF we draft Ming and Steve leaves. Until then nothing has been proven either way.

I hate to say this but I have talked to a couple of people and this may not be entirely wrong. Actually, he may be on to something here...

I'm checking but it seems like...

    Things have changed somewhat today...

Ming may actually not be completely safe.

Jay Williams is the focal point here...more to come!

I still have a hard time believing it. But I have decided for myself not to make myself go crazy over this. We will all see what happens on draft day. Until then, things can change every day.

If Steve said anything like that, threatening to leave if Ming is chosen #1 by the Rockets, then I think most of us would like to see him get the hell out of here. I for one would lose all respect for him. If any owner or GM in ANY professional sports league was threatened or held hostage like that by a player, I think they would laugh in his face.

I got the impression Francis had a guy in mind, but what does your source say has happened since Sunday to change things?

Where will Jay play, the 2? What about Cuttino, does Francis want him out or on the bench? Has Francis fallen in love with the 3 guard lineup too? Can you recap this Rome interview for us?

An ex-Maryland player teamates with an ex-Duke player? Yeah I think so considering Steve wanted Dunleavy so bad. The Rockets are a small but fast team. With Jay Will playing the 2 Cuttino Could start at the 3 and Griffin at the 4. Leaving the 1 and 5 for Steve and Cato. THAT would be a very small lineup, but it would create some fast paced action. Like the Nets the Rockets could pull down rebounds and push the ball ahead. Steve Francis is the second best PG in the league right now, and the second biggest triple double threat behind Jason Kidd. Im thinking the Rockets DO draft Jay Will. Besides why run all the Risks with Ming?

    Please explain Doc Rocket.

Also how in the world does Jay Williams solve any of our needs?

I know for sure that Stevie did not object to taking Jay Williams, as it came off on national TV. But I have no idea if Williams is the guy Francis wants (doubtful) and certainly no clue that he outright objects to Ming. If that's the case, then some interesting developments had to have happened today. What would set Francis off to make a ridiculous ultimatum like that? He had to have gotten the word that it was looking solid that the Rockets would take Ming.

When Francis was on Rome the other day, he did not have anything good or bad to say about Ming, basically dismissing it that he had not seen him play, and he said point blank that was really for Rockets management to decide. But then he stressed he liked Cato.

Two words for Francis: Terence Morris.

    Clutch,

In your opinion what do you think will come out of all of this on draft night and the offseason?

I think this whole thing is about bargaining power. If you reveal your cards too early, you are not bringing yourself into the best bargaining position imaginable.

Imagine this: If Houston knew for sure that Chicago would take Jay Williams if they had the No. 1 - then what bargaining power would they have with the Bulls if the Bulls can be sure that Houston will take Ming? None, because for the Bulls it would not matter whether they pick at No. 1 or No. 2 - they would get their man anyway (the Bulls already have a bunch of big guys, but they are lacking a top PG) (=> Houston would have revealead its cards too early in this scenario).

On the other hand, if Chicago has to be scared that Houston might take Jay Williams and we know FOR SURE that Chicago WOULD take Jay Williams at No. 1, then we could put them under pressure even if, in reality, we already had our minds set to Ming - we could tell them "We are taking Williams - but we know you really want him. What do you offer us for the rights to Williams?" (=> in this scenario, Chicago would have revealed its cards too early). Then we could swap picks with them, STILL get our man Ming and probably squeeze something of considerable value out of them (let's say a late first-rounder next year or something like that).

So, if I was Houston, I would leak conflicting information to different sources. Therefore, it is possible that someone told Troy's source some stuff. It is also possible that they told DocRocket that. Or, Doc Rocket knows but plays along :).

In my opinion, it's all about negotiation tactics. This does not mean that the Rockets are not interested in Ming.

This is some messed up ****. Why the hell would Steve want Jason Williams? I dont think this is true, but if Steve is dumb enough to ask for that we should trade his ass.
