Defensive is alot about his mindset. He has to want to play D and want to get better. Most young players don't come into the league as great defenders, but learn over time. Defense is what separates good players from great players and I hope Stevie learns this. Also as far as the team defense thing, I think that will be tough for us next year with so many new players. maybe by the end of the year everyone will understand the rotations but we will be playing with 2 young guards, a new SF (Since Anderson is gone) possibly a new PF (if Mo leaves) and possibly a new center (Dream/Cato and what happens with them). SO I think we will have a lot of problems trying to be play good team defense early on. Usually it's veteran teams that have played together for awhile that really "get it". Also i hope for continued improvment with Stevie's TO's and ability to set up his teammates.
I agree. I hope he is making it a pirority to keep that defensive mindset. I know Vernon Maxwell took a lot of pride in his defense. Not that I want Stevie to emmulate Mad Max in a lot of ways, but the defense was good ------------------
