    1. Clyde Frazier sounds like he is on sleeping pills during broadcasts. Very boring.
    2. If I'm listening to a Houston Rockets broadcast I want a Houston Rockets slant on the game. I love Worrell and Calvin. I hate Clyde Drexler always trying to make excuses for bad officiatin.

Anyone remember when Stern sat down with Bill, Bull, and Clyde during a home game this season? Their tone towards the officiating changed for a while after that, but it didn't take long for them to revert back to how much the officiating sucks.

Regardless of whether NBA TV or other national broadcasts pick up the local station...he really has no right to dictate the terms of the broadcast...how about addressing the clear and obvious homerisms that happen on national broadcasts on the daily...ie. Magic Johnson...get rid of the issue on a national scale..How about talking about every team in the NBA, instead of marketing the Lakers, Knicks, Miami and Boston...knowing stern, that doesnt bother him as much...
local broadcasts have the right to do what they want for their home team...sure they should be objective...but i do like the slant towards Houston when watching the Rockets...

No one expects the commentary to not focus on their own players/team, but a lot of those douche commentators go by the motto that it's not a foul if my team commits it, and they just detract from the enjoyment.

When you think about it, the nba is about the only sport that only questions officiating so openly skewed toward the home team. So I can understand his point.

But, at the same time, nba officiating has the most impact on a game than any other sport. Sterns real concern is to whitewash any notion that the refs rig games for the star and big teams.

Stern should take an express train to hell and stay there.

Legally does he have the power to control the broadcast team? That's way too much power.

He doesn't have the power to directly control broadcast teams. However, there's a lot of ways to skin a cat.

The US Gov't withheld federal funds from states that didn't institute a 55 MPH speed limit. Same end result as having direct control.

Stern has always been hard on anyone that criticizes the NBA or its refereeing (especially the refereeing) as it's a direct attack on the integrity of the game. The NBA does this through fines (players and coaches) and controlling access to players and games (punishment for the media who get out of line).

The question of course is whether Stern can pull this off in his remaining years, or even whether it would stick once he's gone.

I don't think anyone who watches basketball seriously could argue that refereeing is consistent from game to game, quarter to quarter, minute to minute or even player to player. Stern however would prefer that it stay nicely swept under the nearest rug.

Given how much money is involved, I don't blame him.

75% of the announcing crews in the NBA are sweating right now. Including the Rockets.

So he'll replace our broadcast team with his NBA shills?

Wow. This is a new low.

He could easily stop this by switching to the other crew on league pass. I think that would solve 99% of the problem. It does hurt the league pass product...if this can not be done then maybe offer the 2 option of viewing the game from the other broadcast team. Imagine getting to pick the broadcast team to listen to. NBA League pass would be a better product with 2 simultaneous feeds.

    Here's a novel idea.....

How about fixing the sorry ass NBA officiating first!

What's the bigger crime, having a broadcast crew call a blown call a blown call, or trying to convince the NBA fans that there is nothing wrong with NBA officiating?

David Stern is a fraud! And a liar.

Even though I'd prefer Calvin back, I agree with 95% of what Bullard says when he complains. The officiating is beyond horrible at times. The game would be so much more exciting if the officials wouldn't control the outcomes of games.

Like how they completely ROBBED us in the playoffs back when Yao was here

As long as the local announcers are paid by the local teams, Stern has no stand in controlling them.

As someone who uses league pass, there are games i've turned off just because their commentators are utter tools, that being said, they could just feed both commentaries and let people choose.

I'm actually in favor of this. Don't think I can handle 2 hours of the Nuggets announcers anymore.
