I hate David Stern and everything he stands for. The NBA used to be my favorite.

Corruption from refereeing to this latest debacle has put the NBA in fourth place.

NFL, NCAA Football, NCAA Basketball, NBA.

If you give up everyone to get CP3 you'll have a horrible team outside of CP3, why will Paul sign an extension if DH doesn't pledge to come here? And why will DH pledge to go to Houston if CP3 doesn't sign that extension? The fact is, no one wants to get the Baron Davis treatment and be stuck playing with T-will, C-bud and Jordan Hill.

I think its delusional to think that you'll be able to convince a superstar to sign an extension with a depleted roster if he didn't want to come in the first place.

Unfortunately, this has been going on every since he replaced Lawrence O'Brien. Playoffs are always about ratings and never about who is better. The refereeing isn't corrupt, they just do what Stern says just like Donahee or whatever his name said. While not choreographed like wrestling, they call games based on how Stern tells them and this will tip games in the direction he wants them to go and move the team he wants to advance along. Stern = McMahon=PT Barnum!! He started this to prevent things from happening like the Showtime Lakers being upset by the 40 and 42 Rockets in 81 and the awful Ratings Houston/Boston produced. He took over as commish the next season. There is a reason you only saw Boston/Philly/LA/ and whoever they were playing on Sundays NBA game of the week back in the 80's. Ratings!!

Everyone knows what was going on in the Mavs series with the Rockets before Stern stepped in to change the direction of that series? Donahee told the truth. Happens every year with every series where it needs to happen. And what were the odds of the LeBron Fiasco with Gilbert going off that the Cavs would end up with 2 top picks? Did anyone watching the Draft Lottery not know who was going to have the 1st pick? Anyone want to take odds on New Orleans chances with 2 picks in this next years draft?

You don't have to give up everyone, just some of the moveable parts. CP3 and Howard are a start, everyone else is secondary. If they wanted lowry and patterson, thats a start and the rockets still have enough depth with those players gone. Lowry, patterson, scola to make the money right for cp3. the rockets would still have martin, hill, chase, lee, morris, and a slew of players left. End of the season, the rockets could offer Howard the chance to play with paul and with martin as a 3rd guy, i think thats pretty good. If paul want to leave via sign and trade, then unless the team has cap room, he's going to leave alot of money on the table. If that's the case, then the rockets would have large, meaningful te's.

I wonder what type of a backroom deal was offered to the Clippers to do the trade with the Hornets? I have a feeling that the Clippers will be getting their back scratched. Nationally televised games, all-star events, fond word from the NBA analysts cronies, a huge huge push from the NBA, etc....

It's quite obvious that the Clippers trade looks better on Paper than what the Rocket gave. And IT MUST HAVE been made to keep David Stern from losing face.

At the end of the situation, Stern needed to move Paul more-so than anyone else. The backlash was sensationally not what David Stern was thinking it was. This is America where we are capitalist - we aren't socialist Europe that need to be dictated by the powers that be. Now the NBA (David Stern) is dictating orders to all, and he is the only smart person in the room according to himself and his actions.

But if the Clippers start getting the Push as the poster boys for the NBA... well.... David Stern's backroom deal will come to light!!!!

So we would have had to give up almost our entire team? Unless your name is Michael Jordan, not worth it. If your name is Gasol, Martin was more than enough.

Does Stern just hate the Rockets?

Hard to imagine he'll feel any repercussions. Fans are still going to buy tickets.
