Not only were the fakers even further out of the playoffs back in February, but it's been about 8 weeks since then that simple video editing could have taken out this damning footage of players in 9th place who are ineligible for playoff appearances :grin:

Ok that's true ...

 

1. Stern was probably not involved in the creation or approval of any part of that promo.

2. Lakers still have a realistic shot of being part of the playoffs.

3. Lakers are more marketable than Jazz, and so long as it's reasonable to think they could be in the playoffs, why not leverage that?

4. They're running a business, not a sensitivity program.

 

points 2-4 i would agree with. however point 1, neither of us has any way of knowing that or even being able to make a guess on it imo

 

Well Harden is in the video and the last time I checked, we haven't clinched yet.

 

So OBVIOUSLY under OP's logic, the league is rigging the outcome of our games so the Rockets can get it!

 

I find the absence of any Jazz player all the proof I need for the NBA to make sure their huge money maker gets to the playoffs.

Whistles are gonna be blowing and woe to the teams that face the Lakers in their last few games!

I guess "technically," they should've either made a promo that only included current playoff teams(at the time) or a promo that included all of the reasonably possible playoff teams, adding Portland, Lakers, and perhaps Mavs.. can't remember what the standings was like back then.

But let's face it, no NBA playoff promo is going to include any Jazz this year given their roster. If they still had DWill, I bet he probaly makes it in.

 

So dumb to think the NBA rigs games. Just dumb. Plenty to talk about without making **** up.
I do believe refs still do push games over or under a total. But that's basically unavoidable.

 

I remember last year when the nba made the Celtics and OKC banner commercial and so many people thought the NBA was riggin them both up to be in the Finals....

 

It reminds me of MVP puppets and how the NBA rigged the playoffs to get the Lakers-Cavs finals.
