I am not going to hold my breath on this. I just don't see a mediator helping them bridge this gap in two days.

Gotta put pressure and scare the wives... scare the wives (the money pit) and then players will all cave.

The owners have no incentive to make a deal, they are in it to break the union or make a GOOD deal for the league.

The players - rank and file - need to start feeling the heat of car payments, house notes, and hanger ons that all need money, then they will tell the stars to piss off and get a deal done.

The stars don't need the $$$$ as quickly as the rank and file....that is why Stern is always in the media talking about a 50/50 deal to plant that seed into the Battiers and Mike Millers of the world.....

They comprise the majority of the union, not the stars.

Unless there is a miracle brewing we are not going to have any more NBA basketball in 2011.

I don't think time is that big an issue because the sides were close last week. It's just a matter of their will. The mediator is meeting with them separately today, hopefully both sides give hints of where they might compromise and something can be closed on tomorrow.

I have a feeling the owners want this pushed until Christmas and nothing will happen tomorrow. On the other hand, I think the chances of the whole season being canceled are close to nil.

Might as well go ahead and cancel the season. If either side actually cared a deal would have been done by now. The fans and the arena workers are the only losers in this. I hope they lose a ton of fans, greedy f****

Seriously, when Kobe and KG say 'hold the line' why do the other union members care?

I think this will be over soon. The rank and file are hurting, and frankly the league isn't strong enough to do stuff like this. Games aren't being played and most people aren't even missing it. When the NFL was locked out it was headline news and they didn't even come close to missing regular season games.
