I agree. And thats why this team is awesome. I could see each of those players stepping up and becoming a huge factor in a game.
Don't make stuff up DD. That is not true. (Pull up the stats) You talk about improvement. Ron was a streaky shooter in the early stages of his career. Very, very streaky. And this is where 3 out of his 4 playoff outings came from. Since that time he has improved drastically. He only shot 38% in his one outing with the Kings, but if you witnessed that series live, he was absolutely dominant. He and Bonzi Wells gave the Spurs everything they could handle and more. He played with so much balls and heart, and that is what we had been missing for a looooong time. Rons last 3 seasons- 44% 45% 43% (Since Tracy quit) ----------------------------- His playoff %'s were about the same as his season %'s early in his career. The only series he shot down was when he was with the Kings, and Bruce Bowen was guarding him, for 5 games, because he was the FIRST option. He still shot it at just under 40% and did SO MANY other things that made for a very entertaining series... For everything that Ron does on the other side of the ball, these are fantastic numbers.
Please post a link to Ron's total playoff stats. Because according to this link Ron is a career 38% shooter in the playoffs Maybe you have some secret stats from his highschool or college playoffs to add? DD
I did, ok, he is not 35%......which would be really crappy, he is only 38% which is only crappy. Happy, he is crappy ? Oh and your post made it sound like he was improving when in actuality he is not....his first year in the playoffs he shot .407...his best ever. Ron is on the decline.... DD
i would hope everybody steps up. but if brooks and wafer step up the most, relative to the fact that they are the teams weak links, we win big in the playoffs.
Again, Ron was in the playoffs when he was 22-23-24. His first series later in his career he was D'ed up by Bruce Bowen and doubled every play, as he was the first option.
Yes, I can read, you said even though he shot 38% he and Bonzi dominated in that matchup with the Spurs....they were certainly more physical, but they lost that series my man, they lost. I do not expect Ron to step up, because he has a history of playing worse....I would love to be wrong, but history tends to repeat itself unless you are an improving player. I will forget it...because you were wrong. DD PS. Ron is not improving, he is declining.
I think the only way we have a chance to go all the way is if Yao is the one that steps up, so he has my vote. His playoff performances so far have been anything but legendary. It would be a dream come true if that changed in 2009.
I will try 1 more time. Ron's last 3 seasons he has shot at a respectable 44%, while maintaining his defensive prowess. He has only been in the playoffs ONCE since this improvement, and was completely and miserably overmatched. Therefore, His career/playoff stats 8 years ago form a weak argument. That is all I am trying to say....
Ok, I see your point, and you are giving him an exception to the San Antonio series (which they lost) because he was being guarded by Bowen. I get it, I just don't happen to agree, I think Ron overall is an inefficient offensive player. Tough as nails, and beats on people until they quit (LOVE THAT) but he is not good on offense and tends to screw up a lot unless his falling left jumper is going in.....which is about as often as Tmac's did...and we all know where that leads....teamwork over Me-work....
