I seriously doubt Alperen could play 80 hard fought games and he is due to rest or get injured.

If his bbiq was so superior why does he still make the same boneheaded turnovers?

By far and away the most touches on the team, yet lower PPT out of ALL our "starters". This is the supposed PG of our future. Slow Clap

But he's going to break out any moment now and be that playmaking stud, right? $20M per year is going to be a huge discount right? Never mind that we have seen this one pony trick show for more than a season now, none of that matters right? ;)

Wait, what? The PG, the guy who brings the ball up the court has the most touches and time of possession?

If Silas isn’t actively trying to tank at this point, he must enjoy shoving his dick into a meat grinder, because that’s exactly what watching KPJ playmaking looks like.

KPJ is Stone’s passion project…he very well could be thinking KPJ is our PG for the future

Yup, and for both KPJ and the Rockets, that is a huge problem. He should not be dominating the ball in this fashion.

Look at the only players ahead of him in time of possession in the league. Does he belong with them?

This is as bad as what happening with the Hornets and Rozier dominating the ball when he's no where near the level to be dominating the ball that much. It's a sign of a poor coach not knowing how to implement a system without a ball handler dominating the ball. It is a very basic and easy scheme to coach but not effective unless you have a Harden or Luka or prime Lebron.

Better yet look at some of the amazing guys in the league who have it less. He can be the team leader in touches and time of possession, but it doesn’t have to be such a wide gap between him and the others.

The Rockets are the worst two-point shooting team in the NBA, according to Craig Ackerman. Come on now Stephen...

IMO, number of touches is not as meaningful as time of possession, although the two are related. (If you pass off quickly, your teammates will have more touches.)

KPJ reminds me of Steve Francis, a slow decision maker in a fast body. Needs to hold on to the ball a long time to decide what to do.

So KPJ has the ball more than 5 x as long as Alpi each game. MORE THAN FIVE TIMES AS LONG!

Even freaking Nix has the ball almost twice as long as Alpi each game.

I just did a quick back of the envelope calculation of another metric, based on this:

    Points per minute of possession:

    KPJ: 2.84
    Jalen: 4.93
    Alpi: 10.93

    GIVE ALPI THE DAMN BALL.

And many, many Rocket fans want to get a Kelvin Cato and run the Steve/Cat/Cato street hoops offense. I don't get it. Teach them to move off the ball while they are teenagers. We have literally years to develop an advanced offense of this nature.

Are you suggesting that any player who makes boneheaded decisions is disqualified from having a high BBIQ? Did you watch James Harden?

I'm obviously not saying Sengun is on the same level as Harden, or trying to excuse his high turnover rate, but that doesn't mean he's not a smart player. He's definitely a very smart player, despite his propensity for turnovers.

    He just turned 20.

We want KPJ/JG/Tari/Jabari/Sengun to be aggressive and make lots of turnovers as they develop. WE DON'T WANT ALL THIS DRIBBLING, though. Be aggressive and attack and make mistakes, by all means.
