I am pissed, at ZERO players, I am 100% percent pissed off at Silas and his lack of development and teaching, players don't have the comfort of plays to run, and use to get other players the looks they need in their sweet spots.

This is roll the flipping ball out and ISO ****....lazy lazy lazy coaching.....Silas is perhaps the worst coach the Rockets have ever had.

Time to fire his ass and give the reigns to LIonel Hollins.

well its official then - the tank is on! ;) lol

    edit:

    call me crazy...

i think u want your starting pg to be a facilitator... someone who can set the table... get all your starters rolling from the outset... this is a guy that has to have great court vision and keeps his head on a swivel...

a 6th man... is a spark plug off the bench... instant offense when things start to lag or starters need a breather... that guy can even be a lil selfish imo... more of a 'go make something happen' position...

now we can keep trying to cram a square peg into a round hole... or we can realize it is what it is...

and that should be a great 2nd unit with KPJ and Sengun taking turns doing what they do best...

    imo

I have Porter in the D'Angelo Russell category.

Once you get around that 8th seed you need an upgrade or you won’t go any further.

We’ll definitely have to upgrade at PG eventually but the obsession with pass first point guards has to stop.

    It’s not 2005. They don’t exist anymore.

never believe KPJ and Sengun can work well together... Both are ball dominant and one of them rarely passes so that never works.

Let's see what happens, this is Porter's fourth season in the league but between being forcefully removed from one team, flipping his car, throwing food at teammates, getting in trouble at strip clubs and leaving a game at half time - he has only played a total of 140 games in his career.

He has improved in areas of his game with time.

He hasn't been a very efficient player or a good creator for others, but the Rockets are awful, and they need to see if he will improve enough.

I personally view him as a Jamal Crawford type player. He can be a top 6th man on a playoff team that isn't a title contender.

However, early this year he does have his ft% improved, he is shooting the 3 a little better, he is going to the line more and his steals are up. If his efficiency improves, he can go on to become a starting type player.

    Crawford is an excellent comp.

Maybe. Point was that EVERYONE on the team is playing below average in terms of being a cohesive unit and what the skeptics WANT is happening. Reducing all the headaches down to 1 or 2 players is lazy.

I think people are rightfully pissed at KPJ dominating the ball in most possessions but their anger is misdirected at KPJ. It should be on the coaching staff for not having a more diversified offensive gsmeplan.

Are those people also rightfully mad at Nix for doing the same exact thing? Jalen? Hell even Jabari is taking the ball and trying to be a 'to the basket hero player' often foregoing an open outside shot (which is what he was brought here to do) . It would be cool to see the ball move from corner to corner and find the weakness in the defense, but it doesnt. When you have guys bricking outside shots like crazy and you have a guy that can get to the rim at will why keep passing off to well defended outside shooters? If KPJ keeps doing what all the amatuer analysts want him to do they lose that game by 20+ last night. Im not fond of the dribbling expo either for the record, but if the directive is to break the defense and kick out secondarily then KPJ isnt the guy you should be mad at.

This "system" stinks. The rotation patterns are even worse and much more of this will make it crystal clear that they are tanking yet again.

I think it's because of the near league leading stats regarding time of possession with the ball.

It's been obvious to many that he is better suited in a 6th man role since last season, but do you think KPJ would ever accept coming off the bench?

    Eventually yes.

I am going to be curious how he will handle a new coaching staff next year or the year after.

I'd prefer that the move to the bench and/or new coaching staff comes before the end of THIS season. :(

I really don't know what you people are mad about. I counted three perfect passes from KPJ in the 4th quarter alone that simply weren't converted. One to Green in the corner, one to KMJ under the basket, and I forget the last.

He still finished with 24,5 and 5 on 10-22 shooting and he was perfect from the line. Hell, he'd have had 30 points last night if his 3 ball wasn't off and he'd have gone 2-4 instead of 0-4.

The kid is putting up all-star numbers - and well rounded numbers at that - and you guys are talking about making him the 6th man? Y'all wild.

That said, if it means that my boy Josh Christopher gets to start then I am here for it.

Well, if you go back to the beginning, Silas' tenure started with issues.

He was never the Rockets top choice. The front office wanted MDA back and the players did too. They they wanted Ty Lue to be coach and he passed. At that same time Daryl Morey was already on his way out the door and after Westbrook said he was not coming back, that set Harden leaving as a certain thing. The new GM oddly claimed that he got the blessing from Westbrook and Harden for Silas to be the head coach. In reality Harden just said that Silas seemed like a nice guy.

Then there was the odd press conference where they made Silas act like Harden was going to be a Rocket with Westbrook. At that point he was already discussing bizarre offensive philosophies like wanting a traditional big next to Harden.

Then there was the training camp and Harden played his first game with the Rockets against the Blazers, drops 44/17/9 against the Blazers in a close loss..... and all Silas did was complain about the lack of ball movement, and made what seemed to be shots at Harden.

Then Silas wanted Victor Oladipo on the Rockets, with him basically running the offense and kept sticking up for Oladipo.

Then there was Silas turning his affection towards KPJ and having him do what he had Oladipo do and criticized Harden for doing.

Then there was the mishandling of the big Turk and the decision to keep playing Eric Gordon.

The poor handling of Christian Wood offensively ..... the complete lack of role and development of Christopher.

Jalen Green will go quarters without touching the ball.

The spacing is atrocious since he has been the coach.

Last year he claimed he didn't rely on any sets (WTF?).

It just has been a very bumpy road, and while everyone (other than Weaver) thinks Silas is a great guy, the truth is that the things that head coaches are generally judged on, overall are not that great.

Silas can point to keep KPJ from being an issue, and the improved play of Jalen Green.... but that is about it.

Well, if he doesn't he is on a super easy to move contract. One thing is for sure, he is definitely not going to be the primary facilitator for any team with aspirations of winning.

Like if I told y'all that in free agency we could go get a 22 year old 6'5 guard who can play multiple positions, led the league in catch and shoot 3 point percentage last year and is averaging 21.4 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 5.4 apg, 1.4 spg and shooting 40% from 3, tell me you all wouldn't be chomping at the bit.
