its funny what many of you are discovering just now about rockets...lololol a lot of basic stuff that is not the rockets science or requiring degree in basketball or life to know it LOL
Mans is trying to get fired. What's next, "I don't really study rotations, I let the players decide who goes in and when."
It's kind of wild when you think about it - Silas is going to make more money 'coaching' the Rockets than a lot of us will see in our lifetime. If ever anyone needed proof that it's who you know, not what you know. This clown is it. Imagine if we all got paid insane amounts of money for being so completely inept at our job.
How much longer does Silas have his contract? I think it's done after this year, and the only reason he's still around is because Tillboy doesn't want to pay multiple coaches.
Remember the pre season when Smith looked really promising. Then the first game he fell apart. Silas saying this answers a lot of questions I didn’t know I had. No telling what talent we really have.
Why should that get him fired? Jabari has very very limited offense outside of catch and shoot and postups --- where he almost always fades away over shorter players and bricks. Jabari needs to grow in the weight room and in practice to show he can handle getting plays called for him. It's just not in his skill set right now.
Agree i distinctly remember a bunch of ATO plays. I mean, Jabaris problem isn't lack of open shots or touches - its lack of makes. If you're holding on to some fantasy a new coach is going to come in and call plays 100x a game, that's just not the way it works. It would be like the Knicks calling set plays for RJ Barrett constantly.
Because if you're tanking with young players you want to put them in places where they can have some individual success, gain confidence, and develop good habits for when you're not tanking. We're not tanking, we're flailing.
No 3 pick... No plays for him. This is indeed shocking because that sort of responsibility to produce when your play is called is certainly important. I just get the feeling Silas is just tanking whenever possible.
How do you gain confidence missing shots and turning the ball over? I'm not of the mindset that you develop your game in games. That's for the offseason and practice. In games, you run the offense which is based on your current skill. He's not like Jalen, who's theoretically shown he can create his own shot. Side note: just got home so not watching game until it finishes and is uploaded to LP. I don't even know why I dared come on this site and risk spoilers...
I believe this is the final year of Silas' contract with the Rockets holding an additional option year on it afterwards.
