Curry and Durant are saying this because it smooths their egos for being second place with a team of four all-stars... Being obsequious to the team above them in the standings only fuels their own story.

Literally everything the Warriors org ever says or does is calculated to build public perception of their virtues and greatness.

 

Steph said it last year too.

 

James Harden should be 3x MVP.

If not for Harden, the MVP this year would undoubtedly be @Louka for all those "glorious" Negative Vibes he sent to the Warriors

He has to get around 13.6 rebounds per game in the next 3 games. He will likely fall short of that 13.6 vs Houston & Miami.......but that last game....vs Memphis? oooooh boy! Look out! That could be high comedy.
