Stephen A Smith on Sportscenter...reports on TMAC trade rumors

Im quick to judge? As far as I know, you question McGrady's heart and passion more than Francis.

I am not questioning the loyalties, I'm merely questioning the quick change in opinions of people. A week ago we'll be loving McGrady for saving our asses. The next we'll hate him cause we lost the game.

And honestly, if this thread is enough to draw controversies that questions McGrady's heart and loyalties to his fans and teammates (even though he/stephen A smith clearly claimed he is very very happy in houston and just wants to win) . Then why can't I question the loyalties of Rocket fans for criticizing a player for something a complete nuthead like Stephen A Smith said? Afterall, these aren't Mcgrady's words, its Stephen A Smith.

Come on buddy? Your hate for McGrady is known throughout the board. I'm merely poking fun at the irony of some of the clutch members. And no, I don't mind if McGrady gets traded. But only if the return value is equal or better, or will benefit us in the long run (although I prefer keeping him looking at our sucess last year. Since we might benefit in the short run)

 

stephen a smith reported this morning on sportscenter about the tmac trade rumors...supposedly there is some truth about a trade w/ the pistons... he said it would be t-mac for tayshaun prince and chancey billups.... not a bad trade, but where does this leave battier, and what about our starting shooting guard?...

 

BAD TRADE. Chauncy is getting old (not to say tmac isnt) and Tayshun is only a role player.

 

I find it amusing that you would tell anybody to leave considering you have done NOTHING but trash Tracy McGrady since he got here. Even that petty, childish potshot you just took of him is annoying. The most annoying thing in the world is when fans decide to point out a player on the team and trash the guy non-stop for no logical reason. Well if they did that trade then obviously Battier could be traded for a SG.

 

You're not likely to get a starting SG for him. Battier is a role player.

Edit: I just saw the video clip of Stephen A Smith talking about this rumor today. He said Detroit would like to see this happen,let's see what the Rockets do. He also said Tracy is not going to demand a trade,and would be all right either by staying with Yao Ming to get a chance out of the 1st round,or by joining the Pistons. It seems the interest is more from the Pistons side than the Rockets to me. I wouldn't be surprised if DM traded Tracy to them for a better package unless they feel this proposed trade is good enough.

 

IMO there's no point in trading T-Mac as long as he's staying healthy. The only deal that I would ever do is Billups and Hamilton for McGrady...we don't need Sheed and we don't need Prince.

The Rockets might be wise to hang onto Battier anyway. Having two of the best defenders at the three could come in handy if the Rockets were to meet Pierce or James in the finals.

 

you also need to score points. celtics nearly got eliminated b/c they couldn't score points despite their great defense (pathetic hawks and cavs anyone). they got better b/c they started to get more offense.

if we get billusp and prince, we'd be lucky to scratch 80 pts in the playoffs.

 

Yao, an improved Scola, and the team having a year of working with Adelman's system will more than make up for any offense lost by McGrady.

Heck, just improving our smart shots to stupid shots ratio by throwing out all of McGrady's heat checks will do that.
