If Prince and Battier can share minutes successfully, they could hold guys like Pierce or James but the lack of a starting SG will hurt us immensely IMO, leaving us with very little chance of making it to the finals.

I don't think Barry/Head/SF or Jackson can help us much at the 2. I don't think that Battier or Prince can play effectively as 2 guards.

Seriously, half of those heat checks are three's.
I believe he was a 28% three point shooter last season, or something along those lines.
Billups would hit those shots that Rafer would miss. If we had Rip he would do awesome with the pick n rolls.
I personally think our offense would be SMOOTHER with that trade.

    Billups, Hamilton, Battier, Scola, Yao

    that's a scary lineup.

Sure, Billups is aging, then again the Mcgrady window is going to close soon.

I doubt any of these trades are going to happen.

    Morey is a Mcgrady lover.

Kobe and the Lakers will give us trouble, but it's not like McGrady can slow him down or cancel out his production anyway.

Is it me, or everytime we play the Lakers it seems like Mcgrady is scared to try and go off on Kobe.

The last time we played them, didn't he have 9 points or something??

    haha, that's sad.
    Good defense my ass.

um, he only played a quarter and a half in that game injuring his elbow? do you even watch rocket games?

the first game v. the lakers, he had 30 pts, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.

but i'm sure you are one of those stat watchers.

tmac, the playoff version, will usually give you 25+ ppg, kobe will get his 30 or so, so that's close to canceling out.

I'm not opposed to trading Tracy if we can get another 2 guard. We need a starter there who can shoot at a higher percentage and get to the line as well as defend. Battier and/or Prince can't do all of these things . I know Tracy isn't a reliable defender but we can't afford to have these backup 2 guards that I mentioned previously who can't score or defend adequately.

morey is a tmac-lover? lol. how about he understands that IF YAO WAS HEALTHY LAST YR, we wouldn't be having these trades/first-round garbage conversation. how about he watches tmac on a daily basis and knows only a handful of guys can do what he does? he also knew we were 2 games away from a first seed despite yao missing 30+ games?

morey actually analyzes the stats along with how the team plays? he knows who's valuable and who's not? he's not gonna make a trade that will make us worse. what the pistons offered us for tmac will make us worse. and if yao is injured, we will not make the playoffs. morey is not stupid as some of you are on here. there's a reason he's getting paid millions to do his job. there's a reason he has made this team better and more athletic and making great draft picks.

morey will ship tmac out with the quickness if the proposal will make us better. unfortunately, dumars is trying to rob us.

The Pistons aren't likely to offer Hamilton either.

actually I was talking about the game where we won our 22nd consecutive game in a row.

    Not the November 14th game.
I was there, trust me, I was LMAO when I saw him go down.

    "What is it now??"

As much as I ponder this trade, and wonder if it will be an upgrade for our city and our team. I have concluded " I wouldn't do it". The main reason for this conclusion is quite honestly the "T-Mac effect" as Stephen A.(himself) would say Tracy McGrady is Box Office! Tracy can do everything on the court dribble, shoot, pass, and rebound along with these skills he FILLS SEATS and is a "legit "Superstar"
with that being said.... I feel the Rockets should continue to build around the Yao and McGrady foundation, with an accquisition of a legitamate third scoring option the Houston Rockets will be NBA Champions.

    Morey makes millions?

I thought they got paid like $400,000 a year.

Detroit wins almost 60 games a year and makes the conference finals with Rip and Chauncey.

Their bench is worse than ours too.

yes tmac did only have 11 pts, but he scored 7 of those in the 4th. tmac had a bad game. you're implying the 9 pt game earlier that year, which was when he had 9 pts in just a quarter and a half of play.

kobe score 24 pts jacking up 31 shots in that game. so kobe was scared too?

if that's the case when pierce scored 4 pts v. lebron twice, he must be afraid of lebron. but oh yea, then he scored 41 on lebron in game 7. your analogy really lacks thought.

and yea i know you like to laugh when tmac does bad. you've a well-known tmac critic. that's fine. but hey, your immaturity shows through when you "LMAO when a player goes down."

    nice moniker.
Cocaine Cowboys is an awesome movie.

he can dribble, pass, and rebound.

I don't know about SHOOT though.

At least not in the Toyota Center.

again, think before you post. they play in the east. they played the sixers and magic this yr.

our team without yao can beat those team with ease. check our eastern conference record, we own the east.

$400k is more than 99% of what we make. so yes, he knows what he's doing.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I'd imagine that the Pistons have a very favorable record against Western Conference teams this decade.

McGrady has yet to prove he can get out of the first round, in either conference.

A proven championship team should be given the benefit of the doubt in this instance.

Hey, I'm pretty sure when you were 17 you were "immature".
Oh, well 9 points was my guess about the March 16th game, I didn't look it up.
No seriously though, think back to all the previous Lakers- Rockets matchups.

Whenever Kobe is on him, he is completely locked down.

They rarely guard each other now but they used too.

    actually, I think I'm "IMPATIENT"
    4 ****ING YEARS!!
    NOTHING HAS HAPPENED

I don't know if you live in Houston, but it sucks.

I really started hating Mcgrady on May 5, 2007.

    He missed 4 freethrows....

    OH YEAH....
    WE LOST BY 4

maybe if he would have made 2 of those free throws we could have won...

I was at game 7, ever since then, I can't stand Mcgrady.

I'm not the only mcgrady hater, there's plenty of them.

At the Toyota Center people are always yelling **** at him.

    Mcgrady leaves Toronto...
THEY GO PASS THE 1ST ROUND..
even though they lose to the Sixers

    Mcgrady leaves Orlando...
few years later, they are playing Detroit in the semi-finals

    ....

    yeah.

    Nope, just Mcgrady.

    Remember "ITS ON ME"

He gave me a reason for him to be my scapegoat.
