I hear you. I don't think there's anything wrong with what Morey said and i believe in free speech. But free speech has consequences when you are the face of a pro basketball franchise. I don't espouse my personal politics at work or even on twitter if my profile includes where i work. If i have a high profile job where i'm the face of my work, if i've been using twitter for my work (as Morey does prolifically) it's reasonable that my employer wouldn't want me tweeting out my personal views on international politics, to the extent they conflict with the interests of my employer. So i don't see this as being about censoring Morey. I see this as Morey not using good judgement understanding that he no longer has a personal social media platform. He speaks for the rockets, and people are going to associate anything he says with the franchise. that's just the way life works.

Well said. When you are in THAT POSITION, be it face of a franchise, CEO of a company, or POTUS, you don’t get to have your personal social platform. Everything you said will be viewed as coming from the entity you represent. Unfair? Maybe. But people are still dying for those positions. Just how life works.
