Nothing but hocus pocus by Anthony and his camp. They can't "recruit" Rondo to the Knicks. Rondo is contracted until 2015. This is just a bunch of junk from Melo to convince the Knicks he is staying so they don't trade him somewhere he don't want to go.

Guys remember the Dwight/orlando saga. This thing with Melo is gonna take a lot of twists and turns b4 it is finished.

    Here's my prediction:

Melo is planning on getting to LA next year. He ideally wants to be traded to the Lakers or Clippers so he can re-up there for his max 5-yrs with 7.5% raises instead of having to walk there after this year. But he is going to walk there if they don't trade him to one of the LA teams.

So everything that is happening right now is just posturing. Melo is posturing that he is staying because he doesn't want to be traded. Stephen A. has sniffed it out and Stephan A. is telling the Knicks they need to deal him. Melo comes back with this junk that he has no plans of leaving and then plants a story with his HIGH SCHOOL COACH?!??! that he is recruiting Rondo. Just a total pile of poo.

The Knicks know the game is on also. So now they're coming out saying they're not going to trade him no matter what. But guess what? Don't be surprised if they've already done their homework and have a general idea of what they can get for him in trade. They're gonna be prepared at the deadline.

So I think that in the few days/hours before the trade deadline Melo is gonna blow up that he's leaving for LA next year and will give the Knicks the opportunity to trade him to one of the LA teams before he walks for nothing. I think the Knicks know this is coming and they're already lining up possible deals (including a possible deal to the Rockets). When Melo presents them with the trade demand to LA they're gonna come back at him with the Dwight/Orlando scenario...he'll have the choice to terminate his player option or they'll trade him to some other place that he doesn't want to go.

Either this scenario plays out or the Knicks get smart and simply deal Melo secretly similar to the way Utah moved Deron Williams.

Or the Knicks prove that they are totally inept as they sit on Melo, miss the playoffs and help Denver get even better, while Melo walks away after the year is over.

Don't know if you know but Stephen A Smith is very close with all the top NBA players.

Remember when reports came out that Dwight was waffling on LA/Hou, that was false. Dwight called Stephen A Smith and he told him it was the Rockets 100%. Stephen A broke the news on Sports Center that Dwight told him he was signing with Houston.

Stephen A has a lot of connection and don' forget he is signed with CAA, the same agency as Melo/CP3/Lebron.

Why do you think he came up with the Blake for Melo idea? He knows CP3/Melo want to play together in LA.

Stephen A is a legit insider, he also called the Doc Rivers/Pierce/KG to the Clippers and everybody laughed at him, it would have happen to if Stern didn't veto it.

Say what you want about Stephen A, the dude knows his stuff, and he is always right when it comes to superstars and were they want to play. He also called Lebron/Wade/Bosh to Miami.
