I'm bumping this thread because I found a followup interview Starbury did that is equally bizarre: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/r0zNyfAbbpk"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/r0zNyfAbbpk" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> And then there's this REALLY strange one: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mXGgmDhHu68"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mXGgmDhHu68" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> Last, here's one from his high school days, before he convinced himself he's a god: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cuNBdl-J9JA"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cuNBdl-J9JA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Man that guy is crazzy but you bumpped the wrong thread. It was suppose to be the one w/ the Starbury interview not S. A. Amith
I was listening to SAS the other day. I never liked him very much, but all of a sudden I heard an awful lot of Howard Cosell in what he does. Check it out next time -- he's got the same rhythms and the same way of strongly emphasizing odd parts of his sentences. I still don't like him, but at last now I think I see what he's trying to do.
Stephon has always been "interesting" in front of the camera. He's clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed and fits the dumb, rich athlete sterotype to a tee.
Wow. There are some shocking revelations to be found here. Stephen A. Smith is an obnoxious a-hole?!?!? Really?!?! How come I never noticed? I appreciate the information. And Starbury is an under-achiever and a loser? Crazy! I never knew. You learn new things every day. I'm really grateful that all of this was brought to my attention and discussed.
This is great! Thank You guys for making my Friday. I laughed so hard people at work were staring at me asking me if i needed water. I can't believe he got that angry at Marbury and went on a screaming fit. It was so hilarious! He said IS THAT THE PROBLEM, IS THIS WHY WE'VE BEEN SUFFERING!!!!!!!! I just can't believe it. Anyhow great stuff.
From a simple point of view i applaud him for putting a shoe out that the poor could afford. But anyone could put out a 20 dollar shoe when you pay the people making them 10 cents an hour and have them working 16 hour days. He's still making nice bank off them even though they only cost 20 dollars. However, i wouldn't exactly call him a humanitarian. Sure, the guys that make Nikes in the sweatshops don't get paid much either. But i'd be willing to bet it's more than the people that make the Starbury shoes. Besides, he had to come out with his own sneakers since nobody would give him a shoe endorsement!
Is SAS kidding? Its fair enough to be critical of a player, and its fair enough to be frustrated. If you are on a forum or talking with your mates about a player you maybe don't like, I can also excuse this. But for some ar$ehole on a radio show to call out someone like this, who himself isn't good enough to lace up one of Marburys cut price shoes......this just isn't on. I'm not a fan of Marbury, but some people are in a position to be critical of a player like that, and some aren't. If Jordan says it, if Barkley says it....if a great player said it, fair enough. But some snot nosed, loud mouthed, flailing fool like SAS saying it.....I'm sorry but thats crossing a line right there.
He is not kidding, he has gone off on players from spain before on his radio show "with a name like Fran he should be working at a salon" every idiot knows that fran is short for Francisco. the thing is, he is a pretty good writer when he wants to be... blahh
LMAO.... contrary to most opinions I actually LOVE Stephen A. Smith...... a lot of people can't get past his loud screaming (I can, because I can be a loud screamer sometimes also) so they never actually get the points that he makes (and they usually are good despite what most people say)..... Screaming is just part of his radio personality and if you're a loud mouth smart ass (like me) then chances are you'll like it.
no he meant Ducan, because one caller said Marbury could've won titles in place of tony parker with Duncan.....
