When Dwight talks about his issues with Kobe, he mentions how he has to look at himself and what he could have done differently in that situation. This is called Internalization, taking responsibility (not necessarily blame) for one's own circumstances and taking action to change them. It is a level of maturity many people never get to. Absolutely - completely agree and repped, sir!! (OMG- I just repped a Conservative- see how basketball can bring people together??")
YOu do realize he's like the 5th scoring option on a team that's loaded and far superior to the "competition" right? This is not swimming, where all eyes are on Michael Phelps, or gymnastics where you got one shot to nail that routine while everyone is watching. Let me simplify things for you. Is there more pressure for Carmelo to perform in the NBA playoffs or does he feel the pressure more in the Olympics games?? Answer is obvious, and it's not the higher rated game.
Given what Dwight said about Kobe, I wonder how many of the big-name free agents that the Lakers will be after next year will really like the idea of playing for the Lakers with Kobe. It's one thing to be Kobe's teammate on the Olympics team, which is a more collaborative effort, it's quite another to be joining "Kobe's team" when he's near the end of his career but has no intention of turning down his volume shooting and saves energy by dogging it on the defensive end.
Wow really liking Dwight's interview here w/ SAS. Very honest answers...genuine answers. You usually don't get that from basketball players, or when it is, it sounds immature. This sounds like someone who has been rather introspective, wants to be truthful but not disrespectful to anyone either. Either that or whoever coached him for this interview did an amazing job lol.

The most encouraging thing from the interview is the part where Howard says no one will be able to stop the Harden-Howard PNR. That means he understands how important the PNR is going to be for us and probably that PNR plays are going to be much more important than pure post-ups for him.
And I think to a certain extent, Harden prefers to share the ball rather than be "the man." I remember that interview with his HS coach where the coach talked about how he had to force Harden to look for his own shot more rather than deferring to his teammates. It's been a while since high school, so it's possible that Harden's mentality has changed, but I think last year he was just in a position where he had to take a lot of shots to carry this team. Even then, he wasn't taking that many shots in comparison to players with the same scoring output. I'm looking forward to seeing the Harden-Howard chemistry and I expect it to be great to watch.
