So is Steven A. trying to ingratiate himself with Dwight and his inner circle? He wants to be his new media mouthpiece?

Fire Broussard and have Stephen A. Smith slap the bull**** out of him. He's not a real insider, he just watches the twitter feed and says what everyone already knows and them makes up stuff for sensationalism

Sounds like he wanted to tell Mitch personally face to face. Can't fault a guy for doing that, even if it means that the media can make up stories in the meantime.

Wonder if ESPN did this just so they don't have to say that USA Today reported it first. Basically reset the whole thing.

I hope Kennedy and Broussard catch so much flak for this crap.

I dont think it should stop at Chris...ESPN ran the story. I think they knew what they were doing. Now the world hates the rockets as much as they do.

Indeed. Someone else can concentrate on Kennedy (who can't possibly be related to Jack Kennedy, because he's so ****ing stupid). I've got...

Multiple sources tell me that ESPN isn't going to change one single bit.

If they fired every sports reporter or columnist for bad information, you'd have a hell of a lot of people out of jobs. The whole industry seems to operate on speculations and "multiple sources," and making a scapegoat out of Broussard for playing the asinine game seems pointless to me.

And the irony is that Smith, one of the worst offenders and biggest blowhards of the rumor mill, is the one reporting Howard's "disappointment." Hardy har.

Why would he?!?!?!? He was on the plane most likely sleeping, I know I would when if I was flying when all these rumors started coming out. The agent didn't want to say anything because he wants Dwight do the final closure with the Lakers. Remember he let the Lakers put out the first statement then Dwight announced it and changed his twitter. I have no reason to believe he would do 50-50 after what happened in Orlando.

this, I know Woj is the gold standard and Broustard has his memes, but I never knew the full extent till today.

Dude was just trying to milk it so it would remain about him.
