NBA is in love with Curry. He doesn't deserve it. You see how well GSW are doing without him.

Jim Harden should be MVP. He dragged a lottery team to 8th seed. He put up better numbers than last year when he was players MVP. Only x players in NBA history have achieved 29, 7, 6.....

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.

    Well deserved MVP.

Stephen Curry is like the autistic kid on The Boondocks that doesn't miss a shot.

I guess he has to play in Game 5 now. He can't accept his MVP in Oakland wearing street clothes.

Players will do the right thing and vote for Harden.

Media MVP award don't mean a thing. It's the player votes that count

Is he really? This is very weird.....you are the mvp, and the numbers say so as well but your team doesn't fall apart without you..

That's because everyone on that team is an MVP.

After Jordan retired the first time the Bulls won 55 games without him. Just goes to show you that all time great teams are still very very good after losing their best player. The Warriors won't fall apart without Curry but it will still be very difficult for them to beat elite teams like the Spurs or Cavs just like it was for the Bulls to win a championship without MJ.

The team doesn't have to fall apart without him for him to be the MVP. Even if they are, say, a 53 win team without him, they won 73 with him. That would be a 20 game improvement thanks to him. I doubt any other player means anywhere near that many wins to a team.

You can adjust that number up or down a bit based on how good a team you think they are right now without him, but unless you think they're nearly as good as the Spurs without him, it's hard to come away without him being worth a huge number of wins.

MJ's case is a little bit different in that the Bulls had plenty of time to prepare and acquire a substitute player to fill MJ's absence. In Curry's case, GSW had no such time to prepare, and their back-up PG is playing heavy minutes instead of the league MVP.

If you look at how well the Bulls did when MJ was out mid-season, it didn't go very well. During 6 championship seasons of the Bulls, MJ missed 6 games in total where Chicago went 1-5.

You can look at Lebron's impact on his team this season and it looks very similar : missed 6 games in which Cavs were 1-5. Durant? missed 10 games and the OKC went 3-7.

So, it does raise the question of exactly how much surplus value is Curry bringing to his team. I'm sure they won't be able to win a championship without him, but make no mistake, GSW is an elite team with or without him.

You cannot say the same thing about the Cavs, OKC, let alone the Rockets.
