They're not chumps, but def. not champs.

Unless you have an uber-star who can overcome one team weakness, the champs will be a balanced, generally defensive-minded team. It takes more than just spending a ton of money on top free agents ... or Portland would have won a few titles a few years back.

Man, I sometimes don't get this bbs. Nationally, seemingly most pundits picked either the Rox or Dallas to beat the Suns.

As an NBA fan, this is the first time I've ever thought the Mav's had a realistic chance to go all the way.

So why are we cursing a team that beat us - with what - maybe three hard fouls in a hard-fought 7 games series?

Even if you are 10 years old, tell me why anyone want SA to beat the Mavs. Maybe because they'll have the most NBA rings in Texas?

Nah, you want the "enemy to go down". If so, be grateful you don't really understand what a true enemy is yet.

Phoenix fans would have been no different, ya know, this stuff is just part of it. You can't let it bug you.

First, the Mavs have NO CHANCE of winning anything.

Nobody is complaining about hard fouls. Were complaining about cheap ones and no calls, which plagued the rox/mavs series.

Who said anything about wanting SA to beat the Mavs? And the Spurs only have 1 1/2 rings. If the mavs play the spurs in the WC finals (wont happen) I'll go for the mavs, just to see them trounced in the finals by either detroit or miami.

Before this series I was neutral on the mavs, but after seeing the wuss type calls they get time after time, i found that i disliked them. Plus they have the little genital ex spur coaching them, hate the spurs. The Mavs will be terrorized by Amare Stoudemire as they have nobody to guard him.

Basically, I hate anyone who plays against the rockets, especially if they beat us.

Mavs are already falling apart against the Suns. Dirk basically called out the 2nd best center in the NBA saying that he needs to step up at some point in the playoffs. Damp responded with "that's just stupid". Nice to see a team pulling together when it gets tough.

Does anyone remember that the Oilers choked against the AFC Champions or the Buffalo Bills?

Does anyone remember the Astros losing to the National League Champs or the Atlanta Braves or San Diego Padres in the late 90's?

Does anyone remember the Rockets losing to the Western Conference Champs or the Seattle Supersonics in '96 or Utah Jass in '97?

    NO

Did it make you feel better when that was the case?

    Didn't do crap for me

A playoff loss is a playoff loss, regardless of how the team that beat you does in the rest of the playoffs.

I agree with the others in here, I will root for the the team that has the chance to beat the team that took my team out. That's when I feel better about it.
