    1. It is funny how "people who do this for a living" gets thrown about whenever fans don't like criticism of their team's front office. Sure they do it for a living, doesn't mean their decisions cannot be wrong or should not be criticized. Even the Spurs did things like trading Luis Scola to get out of $3M owed to Jackie Butler and acquiring, and later re-signing, Richard Jefferson.

    2. It is OK to have a different take on the Robinson trade, but let's not pretend that "someone who do this for a living" likes the deal for the Rockets is close to conclusive proof that it is a good deal.

I respect that Morey does his homework, doesn't mean that his decisions are correct. He did his homework before drafting Joey Dorsey over Omer Asik, too.

    3. I am not sure how one can really think that the Rockets weren't already contemplating Robinson's exit when they traded for him. The trade was made in late February. They knew Dwight was more or less having a miserable time. They had to have some level of contact with his agent and other "insiders" and whatnot. They knew they were going after Dwight (and/or CP) no matter what. They knew they'd need to clear the cap room. Even if the Rockets thought there was only a 10% chance at Dwight, they would have gladly traded Robinson (or any other rookie) to clear the space in preparation for that 10% chance.

    4. It is also telling that the Rockets went to shop Robinson as their first, and so far only reported, cap clearing option. Maybe they are shopping Jeremy Lin, TJones, Motiejunas and White without it being reported... but I find it hard to believe that this kind of stuff wouldn't have been leaked, if not by someone with HOU, then by the other team or by an agent, when so many other potential trades are.

Not really sure what you are arguing for or against at this point. Just seems like anything Robinson/Patterson related, there you are posting snide stuff about the organization. Weird timing considering all the cards seem to finally be falling into place.

At what point is this position going to stop with you?

I have always enjoyed your wittiness, but frankly, you have been just plain annoying since the trade deadline.

You're missing the point. Everything you say makes sense, I do believe they knew that Dwight was impending. But Robinson is more than a good looking trade chip.

At that point in the season no one knew how free agency was going to look like but what we did know is that Dwight made it clear that he was gonna test it. So morey traded Patterson for the 5th pick in the draft who he believed had good potential to turn into a star (and he still does)

Well if Dwight does come here than robinson is easy to move, as indicated by the numerous trade rumors. Why? Upside. He has potential while Patterson is known to be somewhat of a finished product. And if Dwight does not come here than you change your plan from win now to "develop" for the future.

And what better way to do it than with a host of players that have upside TRob, Dmo, and TJones.

Again that is a moot point. The fact of the matter is that NBA teams invest billions of dollars in Scouting, Player Development, Statistics, and Front Office personell. Any decision they make is based on the decisions of multiple people/scouts/coaches. So again should we trust Herrera's intuition?

And please this is the same spurs team that resurrected the dead carcasses of players such as Danny Green, Boris Diaw and Gary Neal. Not to mention picking up Kawaii Lenoard. The scola trade is merely a drop in the bucket for them

I agree criticism is fair for when you are a fan of a team such as the Kings, Suns, Bucks, or the Raptors.

But you are complaining that the GM's of marquee playoff teams are wrong because they see talent in a player that you dislike. You are not being objective, you're just what we call butthurt.

CH, you sound like my ex-girlfriend that can't get over our break-up...or like me when another ex-girlfriend, who I was really in to, broke up with me. Desperate, bitter, and irrational.

It happens...but don't make a habit out of it.

There's no sense in getting worked up over a rotation 4 is there? While no GM is infallible, losing Patrick Patterson hardly seems like a big deal.

Is it safe to say that this is T-Rob's last day as a Rocket?

It is stunning how people still don't know that you should just ignore the troll.

Anyway, should be an interesting day. Won't get much done at work.

Scary that San Antonio and Greg Popovich want T-Rob. SA is one of the best franchises in spotting young talent and Pop is best coach in the league. And they want T-Rob, hmmmmmmm.

Better in spotting young talent, or better in developing them. That is the question.

A year ago basically every coach wanted T-Rob. He spent most of his year with the Kings who suck at developing talent. Then he got traded, and didn't acclimate well fast enough with his new team. His weaknesses got exposed (bad handles, basically no own offensive game, small for a PF) - but his strength are still there (great rebounder, decent defender, very athletic) and he is still young. I am not surprised that a coach like Pop would like to work with him, especially if it costs him basically nothing.

Carl Herrera is acting like a complete idiot. He used to be decent at least in the GARM (minus the trying-too-hard gay jokes).

You gotta have talent before a team will invest big bucks in a players development.
